On a similarly sized military boat you will for example find 8 people just in engineering, some specialized in engine, some in electrical power and some in general systems (like the toilets) at various skill levels. A medic is on board, two cooks, deck crew of 4 people of different ranks, navigation, signaling (also help on deck, all as lookouts too) watch officers, a general electronic systems guy (gps and such) and more. And that's before you get to the operational, aka weapons and sensors people

If the back of the boat is the "aft deck", why isn't the front of the boat the "fore deck"??? The "pointy" part at the tip of the boat is the bow.
