Is it normal for baby only to grab one foot? And not both?
@movementlesson
@movementlesson 5 сағат бұрын
Normal is a relative term for someone's option and what they are and are not okay with when it comes to development. Optimal vs. non-optimal is based on movement mathematics and is not opinion-based. To get the optimal milestone of grabbing the feet, your baby needs to grab both feet, and you want to get a pump through the pelvis. So, if the child is only grabbing one foot and not the other, it is non-optimal. If your baby is grabbing both feet, but you are not getting the pump through the pelvis, the milestone is non-optimal. Here is a video I have showing you what grabbing the feet should look like - kzbin.info/www/bejne/m2SXenSsr7CcjNE

You need to give your child the mathematical movements that create sitting. I can't guarantee that you son will sit, but he will get the experiences of sitting as if he did sit. And getting to that goal of sitting is more likely a possibility for him, if his bone structure is able to support that. I would be more than happy to give you specific guidance for your son on my Facebook group, if you post a video of him there. facebook.com/groups/MovementLessonParentsPractitioners. If not, you can get into my fast start support program and start with the sleeping and lying down course. Then you are going to go through each of the milestone courses and learn how to put in the mathematical movements of each milestone and therefore create a movement structure that will allow him to have more optimal play, movement, development, and independence. www.movementlesson.academy/fast-start

Your baby's milestone development is non-optimal. You can keep taking the "wait and see" approach, or if you are happy with your child's development then there is nothing you need to do, but if you want your baby to be more optimal, you will want to give her more rotational movements so her milestones and movements can be easier and more successful.

Most parents are taught to work on muscle. I am here to teach you a more effective way to work with your child and give you a way to work on those foundational movements that your son missed out on. I would need to see a video to give you the best place to work for your child. The body is complex so while one child may need hip work another child may need chest work to accomplish the same task. I do free reviews on my facebook group, if you post a video of your son there, I can help you optimize his foundational milestone movements so his movements can be more functional - facebook.com/groups/MovementLessonParentsPractitioners

Your baby should just roll through the spine not grabbing and flinching. Baby's aren't meant to use 'muscles' for movement during their first milestones. 4.5 months for grabbing feet, 5.5 months for sitting independently and 6.5 months for sitting self up? That's awfully early compared to all other milestone trackers.
@movementlesson
@movementlesson 17 күн бұрын
Thanks for noticing. We are not about being early, we are about being on target. In 2004, the US government saw that babies were getting more delayed. Instead of finding the solution, they changed the milestones for delays and gabs. We want parents to be aware of optimal development. This helps a parent to be guiding their baby and noticing anything of concerns. We are not about the 'wait and see' approach. Over 1/3 of children are in some type of special services, autism is on a horrible rise, and parents want to be powerful.

@@movementlesson Where in this article does it say that children are getting more delayed? They are just trying to reflect reality of child development since we're more educated about child development now than we were in the past. Parents are also more educated and involved than they were in the past. 30 years ago, my mom had no idea tummy time was important. Nowadays you'd be hard-pressed to find a parent who doesn't do tummy time. I'm honestly not a fan of your fear mongering, especially when you said that not buying your course would mean putting my child in danger. Not to mention that you're not a physician yet you're giving medical advice.
@movementlesson
@movementlesson 6 күн бұрын
Unfortunately my clinic is full of parents who are told tummy time isn't important and their baby is okay when it can barley lift it's head. As for children becoming more delayed, they are changing the developmental timeline to a more delayed timeline so everyone wins a trophy (meaning all kids are developing okay) and parents that should be concerned about their baby's development are thinking that their baby is okay. Development is not optional, and if its changing, the timeline shouldn't be changing. Their data is showing more developmental delay in babies. But instead of asking "Why is it taking longer for more kids to develop and what can we do to be more proactive?" The ease path was taken and the developmental timeline was changed so the problem that needs to be addressed can be ignored. They are also taking out developmental milestones. If a child is skipping milestones, they are becoming more delayed. The new guidelines have actually made it harder for parents to get services when their child is in serious trouble. So yes the children are getting more delayed because now they have to be in complete developmental failure before most doctors will give a referral. Babies don't have a developmental check up until their are 9 months old. Thousands of parents are worried and they are being completely ignored. They are being told their kid is okay. Then at 9 months, 12 months 18 months suddenly their child is not okay and its the parents fault for not being more of an advocate for their child not the fault of the timeline saying that everything is okay when it is not.

Hello there! Thank you sooo much for sharing this information it is so incredibly valuable and also like drinking from a fire hose. New mama🙋🏽‍♀️ Our baby is 10months crawling with one left knee down and right foot flat on the ground. He used to army crawl but this has been remedied (up until this point) with Bowen Therepy. He is starting to pull up and wanting to push things around to walk. Should I be doing something to support proper crawling? I’m thinking about buying a push walker to support walking-should I? I hope I’m not too late in nipping this in the bud. Also he is not reaching over to cross the midline when grabbing hold of things.
@movementlesson
@movementlesson Ай бұрын
The crawl has not been remedied if he is needing props to help with walking. You really want to go back to the foundations and improve the quality of his previous milestones. The movements are not synchronizing and therefore is struggling to go into natural movements on his own. I would spend one week on each of his previous milestones to get all his body parts working together. You want to start with the Sleeping and Lying Down Course, then Tummy Time, then the Looking At You Course and so on. There is a calendar in my program. It's 60 Days free so your biggest expense will be your time. Set a schedule to work on your son the best you can. You can do most all of the exercises while he is sleeping if that is easiest for you. But even while he is awake and active, just do your best implementing one exercise at a time. If he is struggling with midline, the three milestones I mentioned and his coming to sitting milestone is not established in his body well enough. These first courses will be essential for naturally setting up midline crossing in his system. Here is the link to the program. You get 60 days free. If you are struggling implementing the courses make sure you set up an appointment with support to help you have more successful home application. www.movementlesson.academy/fast-start

Can we have any updates from people who were affected by the scaremongering in this video? I think it’s pretty horrid language used to say that this type of crawl means the child will end up with issues down the line. Parents are vulnerable emotionally and to place fear into them for their child’s well-being isn’t the right vibe for me. Then again, how else would you make money…
@movementlesson
@movementlesson Ай бұрын
Lots of parents go into my Facebook group and they give updates there as they get movement reviews and put into practice to tools of optimizing their child's development. You can ask for updates there and get responses- facebook.com/groups/MovementLessonParentsPractitioners. This type of crawl is not optimal development and child that crawls like this without any intervention will have problems in the future minor or major depending on the other things that are coming into play and the stimulation or the lack thereof the child is getting. No one else is trying to help parents in this vulnerable state. All they are getting is "oh you worry to much, your kid will be fine," "give it some time, just let it happen when your baby is ready," and so on. My point is that if a baby is not easily going into that four point crawl by 8 months old optimal is not happening. "Fine" is considered to be anything from 8 months to well over a year old and that is not right. A parent is losing precious time, being told that their baby is fine, when optimal is not happening in their system. Can a baby turn out "okay" and be a functional adult, yes, but optimal functioning will never happening for that person unless the skillsets of optimal crawling are put into their system. If you are looking at an adult and saying, "oh their lazy, or they just don't have that drive to aspire for more." 99.9 percent of the people that is not going to be true. It's not that they don't have the drive, its that they don't have the movement foundations to have the drive. I am here to empower parents and to let them know of a better way. A parent can wait and see and maybe they will get "okay" but for the parent where "okay" is not even an option in that child's future and they need to be doing more now, that's what I am here for. I encourage every parent to get a FREE movement review to really gauge where their child is at. I can tell them is something is seriously going wrong in the system and the parent needs to be more proactively engaged in making development happen because it's not for that child. For the parent that has "okay" development, I can still tell them what to do to optimize the system and give the child the choice not to do something versus not even having the option to choose to do something. A parent can get everything they need for FREE on youtube or through the lives that I do on my Facebook group to optimize their child's system. It's a little more work on the parents part, where the paid courses are more direct and to the point to helping parents learn the process of movement and developmental optimization in the fastest way possible. I could be way expensive, but I am not because I have a world wide audience and my courses are aimed to help those who are willing to put in the work to help themselves. No parent should have to thousands and thousands of dollars to give their child optimal development experiences. Many do, they come to my clinic and I work on those children personally as well as teach the parent how to work on their child at home, but most don't come to my clinic. They can't come to my clinic for financial and medical reasons. For every parent I don't want finances to be a reason why they can't give their child the best development. I do need to charge some, but its hardly anything for the thousands of dollars worth of training that is available in my Optimal Development Program (old name is Fast Start Support Program - www.movementlesson.academy/fast-start). For the parents who have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on other programs and their child is still not thriving, they come to Movement Lesson, actually take the time to do the exercises and put in consistent work, they see more progress in their child in a matter of hours and weeks than all the years combined of all previous modalities done with their child. I don't do what I do for money, I do what I do for the sake of the child and the parents sanity. No one likes the guilt of not doing enough or having so much time lost when everything they needed to give their child the best developmental experiences was right at their finger tips. Some parents don't find movement lesson until their child is much older and they feel bad that they didn't find it sooner, but to those parents I tell them that optimal development can happen for their child now if they put in the time, effort, and consistency to implement the programs. Movement lesson allows every parent to put in the first optimal movements of birth and every second after that. Movement lesson allows a parent to recognize if future milestone movements are missing and get those going in the system now. To every parent and professional, NEVER ever EVER PACIFY a parents concerns when they are about their child's development. Give them to tools to do something about their concerns, to evaluate the development. To change the development if they are willing to put in the time, effort, and consistency needed to optimize their child's development system. I do that by teaching parents what optimal development is and then how to put optimal development into the body with a movement lessons. My Optimal Development Program is 60 days FREE so for the parent who truly can't afford it can understand optimal development, learn how to optimize it, and keep optimizing it, even if they have to cancel their subscription. We offer so much value and additional support for those who can continue the subscription, but every parent needs to know the foundations of development and how to optimize it without spending a dime. You child needs better foundation in their milestone movements. You need to start from the beginning establishing those movements as if they happened. It's okay if your child is older, my exercises allow you to work with those first movements and optimize them. Low tone often needs better breathing movements, and then you want to go into Sleeping and lying down movements, tummy time movement, looking at you movements and so on progressing through the milestones. The link to the program - www.movementlesson.academy/fast-start. I would spend a week on each of the courses, which you can have free access to for 60 days in my Fast Start Support Program (we are in the process of changing the name to Optimal Development Program). In the breathing course focus on the first 6 exercises, the rest of the course is not relevant to you right now unless you want to keep practicing with the exercises. Then next week do sleeping and lying down. What you are looking for as you do these course is optimization in your child's movements. These courses are going to give your child the experiences of development as if they happened naturally on their own. What you are going to see with your baby is increased movement, faster movements, less awkward movements, more coordinated movements, and so on. You can get better performances of the different milestones which is also a sign of optimization. Your baby will appear to get stronger as you do the courses, even though you are not doing "muscle work." Your baby doesn't need more muscle to move, they need more rotational movements and my courses teach you how to do just that. This is along term care plan for your child, so if you are looking for a quick fix, these are not the courses for you. But if you want something that will help you to continually optimize your child's movement and development despite the difficulties they are and will continue to have due to he low tone, then these are the courses for you. Low tone is often a sign of genetics, so if your doctor hasn't done anything for you baby up to this point, ask for genetic testing, so if there is a gentic mutation you can be even more proactive with your child's needs. Again the link to my Optimal Development program - www.movementlesson.academy/fast-start. You got this, you can help your child thrive even more on top of everything else you are doing! These courses aim to give you back time. You can have more results with less "therapy time." Let me be clear that Movement Lesson IS NOT THERAPY though people will often use that word to describe it. Movement Lesson is optimal development and it teaches you how to create optimal movements in your child.

I have this free mini course on back arching that has one or two exercises you can start with - www.movementlesson.academy/back-arching. Then I recommend that you get into my Optimal Development Program (when you click on the link, now it will say Fast Start Support Program, but we are in the process of changing the name) - www.movementlesson.academy/fast-start. When the back arching is happening, your child is not playing with their Looking at you Milestone. I would start with that course to see if that resolves the back arching; if it does not, then we have other milestones that are not developing in your child. At that point, I hop on a Zoom call with a practitioner to keep guiding you through the program so we can get all the milestones optimized to work through that back arching. If you have something like reflux going on, that can be more chronic. If your child is on medication for the reflux, ask for a referral to Gastro to make sure something more serious isn't going on. Regardless, your child needs support with optimizing their movements since the reflux would be chronically interrupting them. If your baby is back arching child, sleeping, and staying in a c position, you need to get in with Ear, Nose, and Throat pronto for scope to make sure you don't have a floppy airway. Even then, the doctors may or may not do anything about it. But if you have something going on like that, your baby is not able to play with optimal movements on their own, so you will need to manually support the milestone movements with the courses in my Optimal Development Program, www.movementlesson.academy/fast-start.

Mine is a question,a baby with developmental delay started army crawling at 21 months isn't this achievement I mean a mommy can't be proud of a baby cos he/she changed from sitting to crawl?
@movementlesson
@movementlesson Ай бұрын
It depends on how you want to look at the achievement and what you want to do about that or not do about that. At Movement Lesson, our goal is that every child is moving as optimally as possible, when optimal is not happening on its own for your child. A child army crawling a 21 months is not optimal development, meaning optimal movement is not happening in the body and can't happen in the body on it's own. Getting from point a to point b is an achievement. We are here to help you make that achievement more optimal and thus change the projection of your child's development to be more optimal versus a projection of non-optimal development. We want to help you be more proactive and give you tools to help your child thrive in their movements more versus being stuck in the developmental track they are in.

My baby rolled over from her back to tummy at 2 months old. She wasn't able to take her hand out, rolling over happens rarely and today she took her hand on her own. But still im worried that she has rolled over too quick. (At 2 months)
@movementlesson
@movementlesson Ай бұрын
Rolling over sooner than 2.5 months is possible. For an optimal roll, you would want the arms to come out like she is reaching for somethings. So if the arm is getting stuck, I would need to see a video to let you know where you can optimize her system. You can post here on my Facebook - facebook.com/groups/MovementLessonParentsPractitioners. I did another video recently with an exercise which will help with optimizing the rolling over, but if you are still not getting the roll with arms out then, there is more you can do to be proactive with your child's development. - kzbin.info/www/bejne/l3LbimWYpNODi5o

Warning… warning… please keep up your positive attitude to help your . The videos are making things look very negative .
@movementlesson
@movementlesson Ай бұрын
Shooing a parents worries about their child is not having a positive attitude, it's ignoring the problem. The warning signs in this video are negative to a child's optimal development and if a parent doesn't know them they can't do anything about them. So the positive part of all this, is there is something parents can do and redirect their child's development to be more optimal, functional, and helpful. Every parent give their child the gift of optimal development by giving them a lesson in movement. At the same time, a medical team does need to be advised, if a child's warning signs are directing a parent there.

Arm flapping If there is a problem please I want to know as a mother
@movementlesson
@movementlesson Ай бұрын
Arm flapping is a sign that your child's internal GPS is off. You need to go back and work on three foundational milestone movements in your child's body. You need to teach your child the milestone movements for the Sleeping and Lying Down Milestone, For the Tummy Time Milestone, and the Looking at You Milestones. These are essential for setting up a child's internal GPS and I teach you how to do that in my Fast Start Support Program www.movementlesson.academy/fast-start, (you get 60 days free to try out the courses I suggest you spend a solid week on each one. Doing the course does not mean the arm flapping will stop, but it will start teaching your child more optimal movement and more functional movement alternatives to arm flapping. Every child's movements will be optimized doing these courses, but the results like "the arm flapping didn't change but you see significant improvement in other functions of the body", "the arm flapping lessening with other small functions of the body improving, or completely stopping, will vary based on what other milestone movements are and are not working. The more milestone movements that are working and coordinated in your child's body, the more your results will be a lessening of arm flapping. The more milestone movements that are not working or coordinating in your child's body, the more results will be towards continued arm flapping, but improvement in other areas of your child's movement and function that you were not expecting.) Join the Fast Start here - www.movementlesson.academy/fast-start. I can also do FREE Movement Reviews and can give you more guidance on the specifics you need to do for your child, rather than the general solution above. Join my Facebook Group, and post a video of your child and I will do a FREE Review - facebook.com/groups/MovementLessonParentsPractitioners

Baby is 5 months and not rolling over. He turns his head right and left but he won’t roll his body …
@movementlesson
@movementlesson 2 ай бұрын
Sounds like your sleeping and lying down milestone did not set up in the body. Get in my Fast Start Support program (you get 60 days free). Spend 1 week applying the exercises of the course for 30 minutes to 2 hours a day (two hours is recommended, a minimum of 30 minutes a day is asked). Then spend one week on the rolling over course. Both courses are in the Fast Start Support program. When doing the courses you want to see the roll become more optimal, ideally you are getting an optimal roll. If you are not getting an optimal roll after finishing those two courses that means that some of your other milestones are not working like they need to in the body for optimal functioning and you will want to keep going through the courses in order. At that point, take advantage of the free 1 on 1s that are available in the Fast Start and ask what course you need to work on next. www.movementlesson.academy/fast-start

Hello, my baby just turned 5 months on the 23rd and shows no signs of rolling. When on her back I show her toys and once I put it in an area she has a hard time seeing like above her head to the left or right, she stops and turns her head back to midline. She haha no Interest in turning her body towards the toy. When I try to roll her to her side she arches her head back to try to go back to her back…

The child should not be struggling so much with vision, and without vision, you are less likely to get a roll. I need to see a video to give your more guidance and to see if something more serious is going on that a little glich. I would try and get an eye exam if you can, that would help me immensely. Please post a video and get a free facebook review here. Optimal development is not happening on its on for your baby, and you need more tools to help her thrive while most everyone else is going to take the "wait and see" approach. facebook.com/groups/MovementLessonParentsPractitioners

My step-grandson is 19 months old. He isn't walking unassisted. He can sit up a bit slouchy and stand or even walk in a baby walker, but he is like a noodle when he tries to walk unassisted. The daycare called in a specialist to assess him. They just said he needs to wear "study" shoes. That was over a month ago. I've never seen a child unable to walk at 19 months old. He isn't talking much at all either. He is just still much a baby and not a toddler. What are your thoughts please?

Am FTM here .. I just dont understand what do you mean by red flags? Warnings of what?😅 what should I do
@movementlesson
@movementlesson 2 ай бұрын
Optimal development is not occurring in the system. If your child is having some of these red flags and you want to do something about it instead of taking the "wait and see approach" and let them figure out a non-optimal development, then you can start teaching your child how to roll more optimally. You can take my rolling over course, which you can access for free for 60 days in my Fast Start Support Program. If you do the rolling over course and your child isn't going into a nice smooth roll, then you need to go back to old milestones and increase the quality of movement in those milestones. You can get into my Fast Start Support Program Here - www.movementlesson.academy/fast-start

My babies rolling over is not quite there, he has rolled over alone from back to stomach a few times but not regularly… I’ve been working so hard with him and I am still struggling with the stuck arms, when he is trying to roll from stomach to back. He has most of the movement on point but the arm part of the movement is not clicking and I don’t know how to help. He seems to want to only sit up and stand on his legs constantly bouncing, and any time he is in a laying position he is crying.

It's likely your baby is struggling with midline crossing, and he has not mastered his horizontal milestones. That is set up in the body when the movements of the first three milestones are mastered. These milestones are sleeping and lying down, tummy time, and looking at you. I would get into my Fast Start Support Program and spend a week on each course, and then he would let me know how he was doing. The first 60 days of the program are free, so you can do three weeks of courses completely free. www.movementlesson.academy/fast-start

My cousin sister rolled over from belly to back but not from back to belly he is now 6 months old ..born preterm in 34 weeks any problem
@movementlesson
@movementlesson 2 ай бұрын
Many parents are okay with that kind of rolling over, even the CDC, but if you want optimal development, that baby does not have optimal development in their system. Your sister would want to go back and help the baby master the foundational movements of past milestones to give the baby the ability to have more quality rolling over.

Hi Michelle, I have a child with special needs who is tracking pretty well on your enhanced milestone chart. He is up to grabbing feet but if I try to get him into independent sitting he just topples over. Very hunched over and No balance whatsoever. What do you recommend?
@movementlesson
@movementlesson 2 ай бұрын
I can help you the most if I see a video. I do Free reviews on my Facebook group if you would like one - facebook.com/groups/MovementLessonParentsPractitioners. If you baby is falling over and has no balance, even though you are seeing the baby do the other milestones, they are not being done optimally. I would start with my grabbing the feet course, but if your baby still isn't sitting up after that, then you will want to start with the sleeping and lying down course, do the tummy time course, and the looking at you course. Those movement planes are needed for good balance. and then you actually want to go into the independent sitting course after you do all that to set up the independent sitting movement planes, if the other courses didn't do the trick. I would spend a week on each course so your child is getting optimal movement input for every milestone. My Fast Start Support program has all of those courses and you can get started for 60 days free - www.movementlesson.academy/fast-start

That is very difficult to deal with. I have worked with many parents in the same situation. They feel no hope for the future. They are not sure what will happen. The future is unknown, but I want parents to feel hope for the future. That's why I do my work. My goal is to teach you how to help your child have as much movement, development, and independence as possible.
