I was there as a ten year old ... Rangers dominated at times .. But Celtic stood tall and took the trophy home .. Davie Cooper was outstanding .. As was Danny McGrain .. Great final .. Just can't believe it was 44 years ago

This was all to do with the fact rangers and Celtic, their fans and their media pals in Glasgow couldn’t handle the fact that the power in Scottish football was shifting, specifically to Aberdeen but also dundee Utd, the 80’s was THE most glorious time for Scottish football Aberdeen and utd dominated and in Europe also. Rangers regularly played to crowds of 5000 and Celtic only slightly better. This cup final was merely an old firm tantrum
