Can we please STOP pretending that the No-Killing-Rule isn't just a cheap gimmick for writers? Its for 2 major things: 1. Lazy Plot Armor for Vllains. 2. And a shameless attempt to infantalize young people into being soft on definitive Evil. .. For chrissakes, they admitted, decades ago, that the reason they didn't want heroes killing people was because of their alleged fear that kids would become "delinquents!" 🤣 It's condescending, patronizing, and pseudo-moralistic BS from Morally and Logically confused corporate writers.

Out of meta, the barely-spoken best thing about the No-Kill rule is that it made the story BETTER by not having an easy option. Any fictional character can kill a fictional character. Solve a lot of problems for the story. But if the character is compelled to make sure their enemies survived, their actions has to be more clever, the writers had to be more creative. That's what bring so many great stories of Joker vs Batman, Superman vs Lex Luther. Imagine the ending of OG Star Wars without that twist, if all Luke had to do is kill Darth Vader to avenge his father, the climax in Episode 5/6 would just be a run-of-the-mill fight scene.

may sound silly at first but me and my friends made a realm on bedrock with a couple mods that we got off of MCPEDL and as we were playing an invisible entity would spawn near us randomly, it would start breaking blocks around our house. If you were accurate enough you could kill the invisible entity but it was most likely a mob from one of the mods we installed, still it was pretty funny to see since we called it herobrine and said he was gonna poop on us at night while we were asleep

Batman: "Yes I did, but its wrong if I do" The Shadow: "So that psychotic clown you just put back in that mental institution broke out, committed mass crimes, killing and harming again. And you just sit there in your moral grandstanding" The Punisher: "Yeah, youre a bonified hypocrite, that one time I went to your city in that crossover I could've cleaned out the city of all crime, but you love crime don't you?" Batman: "No im not a hypocrite, I just need to keep this going because of reasons" The Shadow: "It took me only 4 comic panels in that one comic to end the Joker." The Dark Knight Batman: "Yeah, I agree with those 2, I am responsible for all the lives lost because I was blind with the "No Kill Rule". Could've actually saved many lives by ending the Joker but yknow fanatics of myne will keep making excuses for my moral grandstanding I used to do when I was young Bruce Wayne" Dark Knight Joker: "I know, and I love Batman for letting me do it"

The problem with Batman is that he is genuinely a poor execution of the trope when Joker and other world ending villains escape for the hundredth time and kill thousands more. If he were just sparing goons, it would be fine

The problem with the no kill rule is that that it always works out in the end. We’re never shown the no kill rule causing the good guys to fail. With the way the no kill rule is implemented it makes the good guys win only through luck. For example in Avatar there’s a mercenary known as the Boom-Boom Man that’s so dangerous that in the two times the gang in counters him they never really beat him only miraculously disabling his power through a small weakness that they never discovered. How well would the no kill rule survive if the protagonists faced off against such a domineering foe? At the end of the day the no kill rule remains only because they need to keep the rattings down. In the future I’d like to see the trope used in a more intelligent manner instead of just a asspull.

I don’t know if this had anything to do with it but, about a decade ago, I was playing in my single player world and I ran across a house that I hadn’t built. This was back when villages were rare but village houses basically looked the same as they do today. This house I ran across was definitely not something I built because I had not yet explored that area of the map yet. This was before I knew about coordinates so I didn’t venture far because I got lost easily lol. But this house wasn’t built like a village house and it wasn’t like anything I had built and it had a chest in it with a couple of random items in it. I remember the items just being placed in there like you would find any generated chest from a village or mineshaft. The items were in random slots of the chest inventory. There was like two diamonds and I think a couple of tools and no villagers in sight. It was weird. I also didn’t have any friends at the time that played Minecraft so I ruled out one of my buddies messing with me.

You talking about a video game character causing you nightmares and being your number one fear is something I can relate to. I used ti be horrorfied of Sonic.EXE and I lost so many nights of sleep and nightmares of this creature. I even had a phase of my life where I was lost in the creepy pasta community meaning I was scared of things like cartoon cat, siren head, etc.

Im 35 i believe in Herobrine 😂. Never had flying animals on your game. Herobrine literally made a sheep fly up into the sky. Instantly my sister and i joked about beaming animals and ufo, there out there. Not saying they don't exist but being an adult gets more weird things happening that cant be explain, be prepared.

This game really fits that “games are only as fun as you make them” adage. imo the best way to play is to turn off all hud elements and camera tagging except the detection meter, and only look at the map when you’re at a tower or outpost. It helps fix that exploration problem.

I had an experience with Herobrine once, along with my friends. It was the second to last day of seventh grade, during our PE period. I lent my phone to my friend John (not his real name) so he could play Minecraft Bedrock, as he didn't have it. I went down to play and came back up about five or six minutes later to check on them. John caught my attention and showed me that another player named Herobrine had joined the game. The weirdest part was that I was logged out Herobrine started spawning Ender Dragons and other entities in the world while my John and my other friend (the second one joined a bit later) and I tried to figure out what was happening. The creepiest part? Herobrine somehow knew where my school was. To this day, I have no idea who it was or how it happened on a logged-out world.

due to having a smart and great, greatgrandpa, i was a little smarter than to just blindly believe Herobrine was Real, but in all honesty, i was still scared of the Possiblity. WHAT IF HE'S REAL????
