Great episode Holly….I really enjoyed the sound of water lapping on your hull. 🤷♂️🤣 Sounds silly but it took me there. 👍🏻
@afloatinawoodenboatАй бұрын
Not silly at all. I often include as much of that sound as possible- it is one of the reasons that I sail. It is truly relaxing. And I love that each hull makes a different lullaby! Thanks for watching :)

@Denocro72 ай бұрын
@@afloatinawoodenboat no I haven't sailed a gannet. The first boat I ever sailed was a heron, later on I sailed scow moths and 14ft skiffs and lazy E's. The gannet reminds me of the heron but of course the gannet is bigger. I'm getting older now and haven't sailed for many years but once it is in your blood it stays with you. Cheers Denis

Holly, a friend of mine had a red Farr5000 and lived in Byron Bay. She called it 'little Dragon' only a few years ago she sold it to a chap who lived up near Bundaberg who wasn't that happy with it for some reason, and last we heard he was going to sell it. His name is Harry B.....h. Just wondering if your F5 came from up there?
@afloatinawoodenboat3 ай бұрын
Hi Peter - I’ve met your friend and read her blog! My Farr is tangerine, not red, so alas is not the one and same. My father, Glen, has been compiling a register of known Farrs - 5, 6 and 7s. Unfortunately he hasn’t come across that particular boat either - yet!
@user-zl5nn2dv1n3 ай бұрын
I know Harry who owned the Farr; I gave him some info re the various designs and steered him to the John Crawford Marine trailer sailer library. He bought the Farr 5m.

@@afloatinawoodenboat Thanks Holly. By crikey Yours looks red to me, particularly that brief shot early at 1.55. Maybe it's in shade. Must say the much later one shows more like tangerine.

@afloatinawoodenboat3 ай бұрын
So did we! It was such a surprise. Many of the other dams around Brisbane are essentially grass paddocks and water. This was something very special. I would truly love to stay overnight in the gorge. There were so many little creatures and once the jet skiers all get banished after 6:30pm, they would come out in droves.
