this is exactly the type of AFL content I have been looking for! I am ecstatic by this and the potential future of more breakdowns just like this. explained so well and clearly, especially for someone like me that doesn't feel like they understand how footy works as naturally as those around me. thank you so much for making this and happily subscribing for more!

Fremantle's gamestyle has really evolved before our eyes. Their stoppage and clearance are highly rated. Their ability to counter turnover and move the ball quicker towards the attacking 50 and defense is ultra good and well structured. That's what make a top 4 team, or I dare say could possibly make a premiership team.
@NickJohnCoop15 күн бұрын
Players staying on their opposite and making sure they can’t interfere with the ball was also great.

hey mate, these vids are absolutely epic. Such good analysis and way more in depth than any of the big footy shows. Just a thought - package together 3 or four games worth of analysis into one video so that you get closer to that 10 minute mark. So much more palatable for youtube I reckon, and heaps of scope to compare and contrast whatever it is you want to talk about. One of my new favourite channels keep it up!

George Wardlaw looks good in this footage as well. Great to have George in there to learn from LDU. LDU, Wardlaw, Sheezel and McKercher are going to be a gun midfield with a mix of inside grunt and outside run with elite delivery. LDU openly committing to a future at North has been one of the off field highlights for this North supporter this year.

Understanding and faith in your team mate to successfully accomplish these sorts of tasks is key to many of these roles, great explanation 👍
@holdingthebullАй бұрын
Mate this is great. I would love to see this a little more in-depth though. Like a 10 minute video on the split-second decision making by the Bont is important. Another thing I think that you could explain is the body contact with your opponent (Fyfe) at the right time. Not engaging at the start of the ball up gives your opposition a chance to hold onto you. Bont doesn't touch till the right time and then pushes Fyfe legally and creates space for him to run onto the ball. Things like that, I would love to see.
@First_UseАй бұрын
I’m glad you like. Trying to keep messaging short. In relation to body work, you’ll see he makes this when the ball goes up. What happens when the balls goes up? All players heads go up, that’s when you engage your opponent. Jeff

I was at the game on Sunday. Therefore I could only see what was happening when the ball was in proximity of where I was sitting. It was only the next day when I watched the four quarter highlights on my phone did I appreciate Brody Grundy's role as ruck in the boundary throw-ins. Yes Taylor Adams was also instrumental, but Grundy's accurate taps to his teammates within kicking distance for goal were absolutely superb. I can think of at least 4 goals that the Swans kicked were on Grundy's ruck work. Well done Swans.

smaller and lighter bodied ruckmen cannot win without jumping at every contest
@First_UseАй бұрын
Smaller and lighter rucks can't jump at every contest now with the new arm rule, they get pushed away easily from the drop of the ball. They need to adapt, change angles + jump.

Looking forward to seeing them against a tougher matchup like Melb/Dogs where the setplays will be very tricky. I also think Meek is the best thing to happen to them this year. Whilst their stoppage work has improved radically the last few weeks, it is also their kickout plays that open up the game.
