Hi buddy, where do you keep the RC when flying?
@beastoncycle
@beastoncycle Күн бұрын
I have a quad lock to mount the RC on my bicycle stem. I have a universal quad lock adapter that comes with 3M tape on the back of the RC, but I added super glue to the adapter. I’m impressed at how strong the adapter is mounted to the RC with the 3M tape plus super glue. I also have an emergency bungee type cord tied to the RC and wrapped around the handle bars in case the adapter comes loose so the RC will not fall to the pavement and get damaged.

If you park in the park and stay in the loop, what is the grade like in that last section (6/7 o'clock on the map)? My wife and I are just getting into road cycling and wondering if this would be too hilly when we're just starting out.

I wouldn't recommend this route for a newbie cyclist. This is definitely a route for training to get stronger or if you are racer to get stronger! All the inclines on this route are double digit gradients at some point of the incline other than the long section at the top of the route which is an incline but the gradient is less than 5% and steady.

@@beastoncycle Thanks for the info. Maybe we'll stick to the W&OD for a while. We're looking for paved areas off of the road to ride for now (like W&OD), but I'm not aware of PW County having anything like that.

Is this the episode where they all get tickets going too slow and they tell the cop that they work for the DMV and he gives them another ticket for veering over the centerline?

I like the Spotlight Track mode, but the other Active Tracking requires some careful planning. Good as it is compared to earlier iterations random branches can and will lead to catastrophic crashes. After a couple of near misses and a final doozy, I’ve stopped playing with this feature unless it’s wide open……..love my Mini 4 Pro too much as a flying camera for me to subject it to hazardous maneuvers😄

I have been using the Hover Air X for mountain biking recording. I got great footage. Its main issues are short flight times and cannot handle moderate winds. Got may fingers cross the Mini 4 Pro I just purchased will be nibble enough this weekend. The fight times is excellent. Wind handling excellent. Keep up its visual tracking on my rock gardens and switch backs? Time will soon tell.

I have a Hover Air X too. There are a few advantages of the Hover Air over the Mini 4 Pro. The HoverAir will track subjects at a closer distance than the Mini 4 Pro will. The Hover Air tracks better under tree canopy's than the Mini 4 Pro. The Hover Air needs a 4k camera and needs to be able to move faster than 15 mph. The Hover Air X1 needs to be able to track at least up to 20 mph.

Definitely can do 20 miles… just depends on obstacles. I have extended battery and have tracked me on 12 mile rides no problem, but in mostly open terrain. Good riding!

Did you try the nifty setting for avoidance? I haven't used this yet and was wondering if it'd be faster since it's "suppose" to pass obstacles in a more fluid dynamic way.

I haven't tried nifty yet. I'm afraid to try nifty. However, in the active track setting I changed the camera motion from normal to fast. It seems to track better in fast than in normal.

Nice video. I've wanted to see what I look like while riding but carrying the controller has been the limiting factor. I like how you mounted your controller. For an easier though less capable solution I bought a HoverAir X1.
@beastoncycle

Thanks! I also have a HoverAir X1. It’s almost perfect for cycling. Easy to carry with you, takes less than a minute to have it in the air recording, and the camera produces quality videos. The Hover needs some small improvements like being able to go faster than 15 mph, obstacle avoidance, longer battery time, and 4K video recording.

You spent that much money on a bike, and he couldn’t afford a bike stand to prop it up? Additionally, is that a bike pump? I see attached to the front bottle cage? I’m sorry, but I’m not impressed….

That’s a great looking bike James. Love that colour. 😍 I’d imagine it’s far more comfy than the Venge? Do you notice the loss of the 1lbs? Any chance of a review from a real world bloke?👍🏻 Blessings from England. 😎👍🏻
@beastoncycle
@beastoncycle 11 ай бұрын
Thanks! Yes, it’s more comfortable than the Venge. I’ve noticed less fatigue on my body after rides on the SL8 versus the Venge. The bike weighs about 2lbs less than my Venge. The weight difference is noticeable upon acceleration and when riding out the saddle. It’s also more aero as the Venge. I’ll do a review video soon. I’ve ridden 600 miles on the SL8 so far so I think I’m approaching enough SL8 experience to do a review.
