How is your spackling so white? Mine has a gray tint to it.
@CassieSmallwood6 күн бұрын
I use DAP. Some brands are grayish. You can add a little white paint to brighten it up but be careful that it doesn't get too liquidy.

why does my spackle get watery when i have it in a piping bag? 🧍🏽♀️ stresses me out. would there be another way i can use something else to make the fake frosting .
@CassieSmallwood12 күн бұрын
Someone else just commented something similar on another of my videos. I've never had that happen. It may be too wet out of the container. You can add cornstarch, baby powder, flour, or joint compound powder to thicken it a little and then try piping it.

How much of the foam clay do you need per corn dog?

@@Theboisebabes Lightweight is correct. I just wanted to make sure you weren't using the regular spackle because it gets really hard and brittle. Have you tried a different brand? I use Dap and haven't ever had a problem.

In the U.S. it's called lightweight spackling. It's used for repairing holes in walls. It comes in white and then you add paint to color it.

My spackle starts to melt in the bag while im pipping, hows does your not do that
@CassieSmallwood18 күн бұрын
Is it from the heat of your hand? I've never heard of spackle melting. Maybe it's too wet to begin with. You could try adding some baby powder to thicken it slightly before you put it in the bag and see if that helps.

Absolutely love your videos. I have been dabbling just for my own decor. You are so inspiring. And like you say you are here to inspire and you do just that. I kind of came up with a few things and wanted to share them with you. For the overall color I discovered a Follk art paint called Hazy Moon. I use that for my base and do not have to mix anything. Then for the baked look I mix some instant coffee and apply it to shade. Then go back and add more in the more baked areas (edges, and tops, etc.). If I get too much I can take a rag and absorb some. It can be tricky though, too much coffee strength and it is too dark, too little and not much effect. I tried to make the caulk, mod podge and paint for the icing and I just could not get it right. I had some Gallery Glass in white and I added some white paint, not much but some and it is already in a squeeze bottle so it glides on like a charm. It could be applied just plain for a more glazed look. I plan on getting a couple of more bottles and using other colors to it. Just wanted to share these ideas with you. Oh and for the cinnamon part, I took a mixture of cinnamon and the dried instant coffee granules and crushed it up a bit. The area I have the cinnamon rolls smells amazing! I plan on making all kind of things based on your videos. I want to make a loaf of bread but have not seen one I like on any videos. Would like to see how you would do that.

These are absolutely adorable (and look yummy)!!! Your tutorials are so detailed and helpful. (Seems you might even have a teaching background, as you do it so naturally.) Thank you! (Question: Do you throw away all of your piping bags after you use them? Or can they be saved somehow? It looks like there was orange left in the piping bag and I wondered if you had to just throw the whole thing.)
@CassieSmallwoodАй бұрын
Thank you! I was going to be an elementary school teacher but decided to go in a different direction when I was younger 😊 I have saved piping bags with spackle in them in an airtight container. It lasts for a while but not forever. You can also squeeze the extra spackle into an airtight container without the piping bag to save it but again it doesn't last forever.

How would you go about making it hollow to make fake bake into a purse
@CassieSmallwoodАй бұрын
From what I've seen, the people making fake food purses purchase a plain purse and decorate it. I don't know if you could make something hollow with clay that would hold up to the use that a purse gets.

@CassieSmallwood have you seen Rommydebommy purses theyre great
@CassieSmallwoodАй бұрын
@@Beary_stitchy I hadn't heard of them, but just looked it up. If you want to make the foam clay hollow, you could put tissue paper inside or paper towels to hold the foam clay apart until it dries. It's kind of weird that none of the photos on that site show the opening for the purse. I would want to see that before I purchased. I'd love to see yours if you make one!

That's the correct way to mix deep pour resin. Regular resin is equal parts, but if you use a bunch of resin in a glass like this, you need deep pour or the glass will crack.
