Many of us need help with tool paths in V37. I can't see the buttons you are hitting, and I can't follow how fast you are going. I know you are a pro and probably work with other pros but that isn't everyone. Some of us need to learn so please use your skills to help us. Slow down and explain what buttons you are hitting to get to the options you are explaining. Explaining the options doesn't help if we can't even get to the place you selected them from.

It is impressive how well you know this program and how quick you can push the buttons. But if you think you are teaching anyone you are wrong. You are going way too fast and not explaining what buttons you are pushing. Please slow down and understand most of us are trying to learn.

Much better resolution, I can see. what changed with the t-cutter that stopped the tool going around the cube? With this recent series, I am getting closer to thinking I could make a cheat sheet intercomparing some distinctive examples for the 3-pro and surface paths. My idea is not to cover every switch setting, but to have a concise list of example applications. thanks

I would check you sound system, as I and others can clearly hear the audio, and yes there is background noise. Like I said before we can do a zoom and I can help get you sorted out. Was there something you were trying to get out of these videos? What's you're skill set with the BobCAD software, would love to help you get better at CAD CAM and CNC!

@@Depoalo LOL, I'm kind of a tech geek and I have many devices. I can hear you but that background noise drowns you out. I do have a very high sensitivity to background noises. Thanks but I don't want need any training. I have been programming, setting up and operating CNC Turning Centers, Machining Centers and Wire EDM Machines for 42 years. I have been using Mastercam for the last 26 years. I have a BobCAD License that goes back to V26 up to V32. I just like to watch to see what's new. I love software. I'm knowledgable in many softwares like, AutoCAD, Solidworks, ProE, NX, Mastercam, BobCAD, Esprit, Microsoft Office and computer technology.

If you are using the premium toolpaths ( surface based ) you'll find the extend option. If you are a Mill Pro user you can just adjust your geometry. Shouldn't be to hard to do with SW, just extrude a surface and add it to your selection .

Hi Al, The surface toolpaths are a mystery in that they all seem to be able to work for everything. It would be nice to hear some contrast/choice observations about how the others may or may not be easy to choose. Also, regarding the links, there are so many options that the specific definitions of, for example which direction is tangent, means either spending hours digging through the manual or getting buried in trying lots of options. therefore, like with the bunch of surfacing options, for links it would be good to hear a heirarchy for things to try first.

after dark is back....GREAT.....Hey Al I do alot of vcarve woodworking. What about bcd having different depths on certain fonts just for vcarve tools. Like the letter C where it has a little more character where the top and bottom of the c are different depths. BCD needs to think of us woodworkers and moldmakers. It's a huge market, and bcd is missing out on. I do it now buy it is a pain to program in v31. cheers jc

Al, it's off topic but with the purchase of a new VMC I might be looking to go current, but the Siemens POST available for download are incorrectly formatted in many places where it has been assumed that similarly sounding Siemens variables are the equivalent of BobCAD POST variables. Is there any chance of getting the advanced posting documentation for V25 to see if the posts can be fixed for V25 before I consider a punt on an upgrade?
@Depoalo

Hello Nick, we have very good contacts over at Siemens who provide great support for us. We have number of siemens post some of which may not be listed on the public website. I would recommend you email support what you are looking for and see if they have the correct post already. With that said if you are looking for the posting documentation , you'll find the documentation sub folder in your post folder. This is where the post variables are listed and the post API calls.

Nick, how is your post working out? I know I sent you some documentation. What features have you added? I know the tech team is currently working on Siemens post. Maybe there is some feedback you have for the team. I know we are testing on simulators currently. What Siemens model are you running?

It is nice and important that you are making these tutorial snippets. First you used extrude curve to make a solid, then you used extrude surface to make a surface. does extrude curve always make a solid or does the function sometimes behave like extrude surface? How do I tell why a function failed if no action occurs, since there are no error messages?
@Depoalo
@Depoalo 6 жыл бұрын
A surface is a surface and a solid is a group of surface that creates a closed water tight object or solid. So no a surface doesn't make a solid. As far as the arc fillet between 2 curves I have to look at the work flow and why it wouldn't give me the radius in the direction I wanted. If there is a problem with the software, I report it and get it fixed. Thank you for your comment Mark!
