Guys help please... I dunno what to do anymore, I replaced my IACV, my TPS as well but my idle is still at 4000 rpms.

@cotteeart have you looked the symptoms up on forums with your year make and model? Have you tested for a vaccum leak?

Hello I have a 2008 mustang have lean and reach condition at same time. New catalitycs new oxigen sensor but my upstream sensor don’t fluctuate always on 900 mv. New spark plugs new cables. help thank you.

What about the actual values of the rear O2 sensors. My 2004 Corvette is running lean, and the rears (while still relatively consistent) will hold at .130, then .5, then .7.... Roughly a minute or so at each stage

I have question if I’m reading rich condition are that mean that my car is running lean since computer getting info to reduce fuel ? It’s kinda confusing for me. Thank you.

excellent! Important to consider the best cleaning methods..... and the main causes for lean and rich conditions. I just chased down several AIR leaks: intake and exhaust. One of the exhaust donut gaskets at the exhaust manifold had completely crumbled when I dismantled the connection, for example. SMOKE MACHINE is a simple and powerful tool everyone must have!

Hello, question. My bank 1 sensor 1 stays constant at 2.3 V? Is the sensor bad? Fuel injectors are fully functional, maf sensor works. I have the turbo pressure sensor codes on my scanner also

To diag a MAF all you need to do is monitor the MAF data stream on a scam tool. An engine will draw in a certain amount of air per engine size. To diag look at the data stream for the MAF sensor with the engine at idle. Data is read in grams per second. A 3.0 liter engine MAF sensor should report at least 3.0 grams per second at idle. If the reading is higher than 3.0 grams per second your MAF sensor is fine. If it's below the spec inspect your engines Intake system for leaks. Look at the air filter condition. Inspect for exhaust leaks ahead of the first O2 sensor. If all is well no leaks and the sensor still reads below 1 gram per second for each liter of engine size, remove the sensor and inspect for dirt or contamination on the hot wire in the sensor. Clean it with MAF sensor spray cleaner and retest. If the readings are still below normal recheck your previous work for vacuum and exhaust leaks and if all is well replaced the sensor I have fixed many many other techs comebacks after they replaced a MAF sensor but didn't verify engine integrity. Usually it's a vacuum leaks in the intake stream or an exhaust leak at the manifold doughnut gaskets. Retired after 40 years as a GM tech. It amazes me how many people don't bother to read or understand the proper diagnosis in auto repair.

Faulty MAF sensors can read correctly at idle. They need to be checked at other RPMs to verify if they can correctly report on airflow at all times. Checking just at idle is a very poor test and shows very little.

I too, got a P0340 code (intake camshaft position sensor circuit) after changing my ICM on my 2.2L Ecotec. The ICM that I bought was a cheap Chinese knock-off ($28). It may not have the Ion Sensing Technology mentioned in the video. I don't have a camshaft position sensor on the side of my engine.

How do you know its not a vacuum leak? Is it possible that the MAF is dirty?
@hunterautomotive4842Ай бұрын
The MAF should still track with RPM even with a vacuum leak. The MAF could be dirty but in my experience cleaning one rarely if ever works. You can always try it first.

Except that's not the continuity setting. Continuity is the sound or wifi looking sign. You set into ohms, the same sign thats on the red lead. kzbin.infodqCIx06oeNg?si=y5QnmYxGX4-QShHR
@hunterautomotive4842Ай бұрын
Actually continuity is testing for a continuous path with low resistance. Notice when you turn on the buzzer you’re still reading ohms. The buzzer just makes the test audible for convenience purposes especially when your in a tight spot under a dash or something and it’s hard to do the test and read the meter at the same time.

50x pulses im 10ms? Doesnt sound right or the china tester box is mislabeled etc One pulse is anywhere from 2-20millseconds long i.e how long injector is open and spraying. 10 milliseconds x 50 = 500 millseconds which is half a second and your test was 4-10seconds long. And listening to the audio sounds more like 20-50 pulses. The typical injector pulse width for an idling engine at normal operating temperature is between 2.5 and 3.5 ms. typical pulse width is 2 to 4 milliseconds at idle and as high as 15 to 18 milliseconds at wide-open throttle. But maybe the tester is telling you open time on injector of 10ms but not time between pulses so could be 250 milliseconds in-between puleses tgat last 10ms long

Ford Cologne 2.8l engine for reference. There are 4 cam bearings of 4 different diameters. The outside bearings are larger than the 2 inner bearings. To remove them you have to place your cam tool all the way through the engine until it contacts an outer bearing. Press that one out. Then move back into the engine to the inner bearing. Tighten your tool and press that one out. The inner bearing is smaller than the outside and it will pass through easily. Then remove your cam tool and flip it around through the other side of the engine to remove the other outside bearing. Press it out then back the tool up to the last remaining inner cam bearing. Press it out and again, it will pass through the outer opening easily.
