Pathetic. The men who died for Irish freedom have been betrayed by their descendants who have given Ireland away to migrants and globalists. I spit in the face of any modern day Irishman. Weak pathetic cowards.

The Brits playing an Irish patriot song.......to hell with that. And, Irishmen who fought in the British Army were traitors to their country.

After the American Civil War a US author added a 3rd verse: The Minstrel Boy will return one day, when we hear the news we all will cheer it. The Minstrel Boy will return we pray torn perhaps in body not in spirit. Then May he play his harp in peace. In a world such as Heaven intended. For all the wars of man must cease And every battle must be ended. 🇺🇸🇮🇪🇬🇧

I love this song a lot and I love it because I am part Irish because my last name Dolan means dark haired Irish man and I also love this song because I play it on the base drum in a pipe and drum band that is named after the famous famous brave and mighty and heroic and glorious and fantastic and fierce and stunning and stupendous and legendary and honorable and honored black watch which Is a British Canadian and Scottish infantry regiment and its currently the 3rd battalion of the royal regiment of Scotland

"The Minstrel Boy to the war is gone In the ranks of deadh you will find him; His father's sword he hath girded on, and his wild harp slung behind him. 'Land of Song' ! said the warrior bard, 'Tho' all the world betrays thee, one sword at least, thy rights shall geard, one faithful harp shall praise thee!"

Really, loyal Irish? Less than 40% of any so-called Irish regiment in the UK has people with some Irish blood considerably fewer are actually Irish citizens and current recruiting is open to the Commonwealth. If you are Irish you can only join if you are presently a resident of the UK according to the official website.

That may be, but, alas, Ireland is free of crowns 😁 And wants nothing to do with your crown. Know when you’re beaten and withdraw like an honourable soldier (if you are even that).

There is no greater example of imperialist victory over the Irish than this song being used to entertain tories in the Albert Hall. It's akin to the Americans naming their combat helicopters after subjugated peoples. Or using this very song in their propaganda movies.

This tune shouldn't really be played as a typical march. It's a lament, a dirge, and should be treated the same as Chopin's Funeral March, in slow time.
