Beautifully arranged and performed, but Annie Lennox seemed to start a trend of Chinese whispers with the original lyrics that continues to this day. The line delivered here as "No one ever speaks about the monsters" was originally "The lover speaks about the monsters"... and in there is the name of the band that first wrote and recorded the song, The Lover Speaks, before Annie covered it. I think it's a shame because although the changes were subtle I think even Annie's version of the lyrics was inferior to and less poignant than the original: "A language is leaving me exiled... changes are shifting me outside the words."
