May I ask what stylus you are using on this player. I have the exact same BSR changer, but I am wondering if I need something different to play Seeburg records.

@@retroryan838 I use the ST14D diamond flip stylus where one side of stylus has a diamond tip for 33 and 45 RPM records that I also use for Seeburg records and the other tip is saphire one for 78 RPM records.

How do you adjust the tracking on one of these?
@retroandrailways
@retroandrailways Ай бұрын
@@retroryan838 There is a screw paralel with tonearm in that black area where it is coupled with mechanism and screw has to have a metal plate which tensions the spring that gives it a counter force. There is a hole trough which you can insert the screwdriver on the front side and by twisting the screw you can reduce or increase the tracking force of turntable to some value. If you want it to have a lower tracking force than it has when you fully tension it you will have to get another spring and swap it or put it arround the original one as I have done in this case.

@@retroandrailways Thanks for the answer! What is the material of the filter? It's located on top of the bulb? I want to make a Hasler green but the filter is missing.

@@robo_374 No problem. I assume that it is some kind of glass that has a bit of green put in it since filter has a clear green colour. Yes, it is located on top of bulb housing. I am sorry to hear it and don't know where you could get one except to ask someone on railway who works with them.

Finally a video with great sound quality! I'm a train driver from Belgium and this sound used to be in the background of most trains i used to drive (sometimes even in "stereo" in some EMUs where the speedometer used this technology and the recorder too, located behind the driver). A few days ago i was unexpectedly assigned an older train and i was surprised to hear this sound again, it was a nice trip down memory lane. It's sad that we only notice things when it's too late, i used to ignore those but now i miss them.

Thanks. That is nice, yes I've seen that sometiems one cab had two of them since one was registrational and other was indicator unit used to close contacts and activate various asociated safety equipment. Here in Croatia there are only a couple of such Hasler tachographs left in regular use since they got replaced with newer stuff. Ever since I saw them as a kid they were fascinating to me and I allways wanted to have it. Now nearly ten years later I've used a chance to get few of those decomisioned ones for my collection and to preserve them. So it is with some things as it seems. I hope that you have also seen the other video where I did a demonstration with two of them during day and showed how they work.
