Good afternoon Garth. Great rebuild/refurnish. Having an issue with my '74 CT90. I was wondering if you would help. Green neutral light is not turning on, all other lights work, and I have a new battery, but it won't start anymore as well.

@EnglishBoomOutfitters there is a small light bulb in the insrument cluster. I would check that first. Next i would check the electrical connection on the motor, sometime the contacts wear out. If you dont have an original honda manual, get one! Its well worth the money. For running check fuel and spark. Biggest killer on these bike if gummed up fuel in the carb.

Secial thanks to Lloyd and Luke for picking up the engine and stabilizing it. Jules, Ryse, and Jack for loading the engine. Jules for moving the engine from washington state to Texas. It was a long ordeal, but its at its new home now!!

I have pulled 4.0 from 2010 Ford Explorer XLT to replace timing chains and other parts while out. Thanks for the heads up on timing balancer. I did spend some time, (a lot) looking for solution on timing. Your video shows up in Google search readily, not so much on YT. Anyone else who has or is struggling with front cassette coming out you are not alone. The head is offset from the block by an 1/8''. Not every 4.0 has this issue. Bust off the old plastic from cassette and ease out. New cassette will need some TLC going in. A few gentle taps with long screwdriver at pivot collar after it is slid in as far as possible. Overall this job is frustrating. The money saved evens it out.

@AJCzarkowski bolt head stayed the same, i used the barrel from a ruger number 1 rethearded for a small ring mauser. I did have to remove the feed rails in the receiver to have the magazine fit. Overall it works well.

I bought it as a bare action, with mismatched numbers for $60 from sarco.............it likely hasnt been a rifle in 25 plus years. Barrel was a ruger no 1 takeoff, stock was a cracked grade 3 swedish from apex...... this is a great creative use for it. I have never owned a nice untouched military surplus rifle. Far to spendy for a family man...... those days were in the distant past by the time I had aquired the skills to do this work.

I am in love with your spanish mauser to .45 build. I think the google algo sniffed me out. Ive been thinking about converting this mauser type to 45 raptor or 450 bush( I have a specific hand load in mind), but the action/age of this sample has really caught my eye. I really appreciate your experimental attitude with classic junker components. I love seeing what these old designs can be with a little curiosity and tinkering.
