I had a couple of Bruisers in the 80's to the 90's. They were cool back then, but by today's standards, they are duds. They are heavy, slow, way overpriced, and perform like garbage.

Things evolve with time. Comparing a T-Ford with a modern Ford ish lol😂 But some still love the T🎉🎉

das soll tamiya sein? sieht eher aus wie ein clone

Tamiya should've went original gears instead of synthetic nylon gears.also they need to drop the price way down on the rere's.the bruiser clones is kicking Tamiya's butt on bruiser sales!

Which gear broke? Was it the spur gear? Were you able to source a replacement?

I would LOVE more info on what you needed in order to run those longer travel T2 arms! I have just bought a Fox Edition Slash 4x4 low CG and have already thought about giving it more suspension travel and it's not even arrived from Ebay yet! lol I want it to run over rough terrain more like a long travel trophy truck than a low riding short course truck. Do you need to modify the vehicle itself or just bolt them on and go? From articles I've seen so far it seems that having more droop in the suspension may cause binding at the drive shafts. Is that an issue with this set up? I REALLY appreciate any more information you could share! Great video by the way! I subbed you! :)

Thanks! I guess meanwhlie you know even better than me. I remember that the delivered set did not need any further parts to be installed, you just change the plastic stock arms with the aluminium ones and that's it. I set the travel set up as high as possible (I like it the same way you obviously do) but it still worked great with the driveshaft. By the way the traxxas drive shafts are the best on the market, the way they are constructed makes them very long lasting, way longer as metal drive shafts on my HPI cars for example. So I recommend to keep them even if they are "just plastic".

Nice tires for "show and shine" but non performance i think.

Like a lot of tamiya stuff, its grip is limited by its stock, hard as rock tires.

Nice to see it will take some abuse. Don't see to many Bruiser thrashing videos lol. I would do the same but for what the truck is worth I'm not so sure. They are $1100 Canadian now! :O
@Richiesrant10 жыл бұрын
I find that the Tamiya's are more designed for scale appearance than for rock crawling performance. They make fantastic shelf queens, but you don't see too many show up at crawler comps.

I got a 1980 version handed down from my father, I'm not sure what to do with it, needs a receiver and I'm thinking about making it a modern 4x4

Hlysht666 if you still have it, find a collector and sell it to them. The originals are worth silly money now.

Lock it in full time 4 wheel drive and add some Proline Masher 2000 tires. It'll go then!

Btw arr thise arms eider than the stock ones?
@heavydesignelements10 жыл бұрын
no, these arms are as wide as the stock ones, but these are one of the few good alu-hop-ups integy offers. (just my opinion.. based on experiences..) Part #: T8221SILVER Part #: T8224SILVER

Nice! Do u think the axial 2.2 8 hole beadlock wheels would fit the scte?
@heavydesignelements10 жыл бұрын
no, i guess they won't fit as i just tried the stock wraith wheels and they are too tight from the inside.

Thank you! I'm converting the race SCTE to more of a basher so it's getting a MMM w/ 2650kv or 2200kv motor haven't decided yet and probably 3 or 4s battery.. Just no time to race anymore and my son enjoys bashing more then racing I'm thinking :D

Thank you! I use "MIL-SPEC ZXL 2.2 tires" with a simple set of "OEM steel 2.2 beadlock wheels" (here it was necessary to drill the wider part of the axle mounts that go through the wheel about 1-2mm deeper, but NOT completely through!). Due to the much bigger size of the tires (compared to the stock ones on this SCT), I recommend gearing the truck down.
