Will the landlord let you cut any of those low hanging branches back, or remove some of the trees encroaching into the farmable areas? Out of curiosity can you provide a rough ball park of what your rent per farmable acre is? I'm curious to know what farm rent costs. Can you setup an auger station and go from gravity wagon to auger to truck? For 26 acres that might be your best bet for the least investment given how that road looked.

I hope you use the drill and plant soybeans in the new ground and see if there's as many deer there as at your place but anything you plant there should do better where it's sloping some and you should have a place to get your seeds in the dry there in one of those old barns just an old man dreaming of what he might do with a property like that so please forgive me for saying anything

Don't know where you get your fuel out there but the folks with diesel pickups around here are just a grinning because they can buy fuel cheaper than everyone with gasoline engines

How many acres could you farm with a 3020?
@marlonjenkins7447Ай бұрын
Sir, I'm just an old country boy from a little town called Loxley Al. Down near Gulf Shores. I grew up on a 1500 acre farm and this kind of work is all I ever did. God I miss that old 4960 John deere. My dad had 6 tractors. I watched him work himself to death out here in these fields for hardly nothing. I still get out here and mess around from time to time for one of my friends. If I was near your location, you wouldn't have to ever worry about getting out there on that tractor. I would do it for you for free. I just love being out there. It's like therapy to me. I'm a retired Marine so I don't need no money. Just love the peace of being out in the field working. Love you videos. Keep at it and hope everything turns out great and you make money on top of money.
@raywhite1442Ай бұрын
I hope this cold weather ain't messing up your stalk chopping I guess the new tractor and the 4430 have heated cabs

When I got married my brother in law had a big ford coal truck and they said it had a 350 hp Cummins in it and I don't know if it had straight pipes or what but it was a good sounding truck

Is that a live tandem or tag axle?
@stinsonfarms6724Ай бұрын
@@1957rickster No, it's a dead tandem, and it has got me stuck a time or two. Thanks for watching!
@RicksterTheFixer-n2rАй бұрын
I saw a YT video to cure that common problem- put an old tire without wheel, between the 2 - it makes the dead axle turn a little. Maybe enough to get out.
@DeanHill-v3wАй бұрын
You need to find yourself a broom or shovel to push those ingredients into the mixer. Dangerous using your hand to do that. Be safe
@raywhite1442Ай бұрын
I guess I'm a simpleton but I can't figure out why on November 4th and you and the boys were chopping stalks that you needed to chop the end rows to have a place to turn around to mow the rows I'm sorry
@alexkotlar-w8pАй бұрын
I learned the hard way not to grind hay or incorporate salt in the grinder. (Bearing and corrosion) Best to grind plain corn. And use salt block/minerals for cattle.
