In the UK back then car tax was cheap for cars under 1.6 litres but over that it was a high rate. So the 1.5 VTEC was cheap but a D16Y7 was the same tax as huge gas guzzlers. Humble as it was, few motors on the cheap tax rate where anywhere near as good as the 1.5 VTEC -E

@@synsyla1 stock pipe cutted at the turbine side, at the end of the flexible part and conected with silicone hose. Turbo bolts right up but it's in different position then the stock one so there is modifing with dpf position or you need downpipe. Heat shields also need some modification

U realize that the vtec on the 1.5 is not used for more performance right? Its Clever way for Honda to save on gas at love rpms. Its not the same type of vtec that is on the 1.6 type-r

Y8 head miled 1mm, camshaft d16z6 stock d15z6 block pistons etc., d16z6 intake manifold, 4-2-1 header 57mm exhaust tuned with p28 and hybrid gearbox 4.43 FD with 3,4 crx

Z6 camshaft is better. I have a video in my channel with d15z6 head and y8 camshaft also to compare little bit better down low but weak up top.

1.5 vtec is overrated .. a 1.5 turbocharged diesel of nissan is better than it in all perspectives

First it's not nissan it's Renault and second better in what acceleration 0-100 in 17sec definitely not here...fuel consumption little bit here but not by much 1 liter or so...and after that here comes the costs for running this Renault engine is two or three times more expensive to maintain than this engine. And number three for around 800 euro this 1.5 engine can produce 165 bhp like my second car in my channel and the car can run 0-100 in 6.8 sec it's only 10 seconds faster than the rocket ship from Renault
