A couple of years ago we spent our 30th wedding anniversary and my 70th birthday in a cottage just up the road from that beach. It was the same cottage that I stayed in many times with my parents from the age of 5 to around 10 years old. It’s known as Trevaunance Cove x

I just love that whole area have been many times. Hope you don’t mind me saying but could you show more of the scenery and beach when you are actually talking about what you are finding and looking at. Not that I don’t want to see you as well just more of what you are looking at rather than just hearing you talk about it. Thank you for going out of your comfort zone to show that amazing view at the end great video xx

Isn’t Cornwall amazing! Thanks so much for the feedback. It can be difficult getting all the shots you want to get. Flying the drone can be especially challenging in some places like Polperro. I think you will like the next couple of videos coming up as we’ve got so much amazing footage of Prussia cove (goes live tonight) and also Logan’s rock that I’m cutting next. I think it’s some of the most stunning footage nice ever filmed and I can’t wait to share it with you!

The National Trust and English Heritage are both tightened of being sued if there’s an accident from someone flying from their land. So they won’t give permission unless you have all the replicant documentation and probably pay a fee to them too! I do have all the training and able to risk asses my flights, but I’m not really willing to pay a fee to fly when I’m not getting paid myself. In short I fly when there’s no one around for the drone to fall on.

I too scrambled down the cliff a few weeks ago, then walked the full length of the beach to the caves. There are some steps pretty much level with the smaller sea stack that we noticed, which will definitely be the way i try next time! You can make them out on Google maps. I found a £20 note amongst the usual treasures!

This is new to me, I have a small UV torch and will take it with me next time I go to the beaches (fairly regular for me, we usually search for stones with holes through them - hagstones). Which type (U238, U235 or U234 all of which produce Alpha radiation which can be stopped by your skin) ? Is it radioactive in this form? - I have a Geiger counter - it will be interesting to test... _popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries_ ? it was used to make bottles? containing foodstuffs? I presume this is safe since Uranium will be locked into the glass, a method used to 'safely' dispose of Nuclear Waste.
@The_Izars
@The_Izars 21 күн бұрын
To be honest I do t know the answer to all these questions. I’d be interested to hear how much radiation if any you would get off uranium glass. I know radiation was treated as a health benefit in small quantities untill the 1940’s. They stopped using uranium when supplies of it became restricted in the Second World War. It’s pretty rare find on beaches though
