Hi, great video thanks! You mention about doing the same fly through effect with a logo and alpha channel, can you advise how I can use a logo (instead of the text) to create the same effect please?
@erictozzi112
@erictozzi112 25 күн бұрын
Hi! Actually it's the exact same principal as the text, because the text itself has an alpha channel when it sits on top of video. Just just replace the text layer with a logo and apply the exact same method and it should work just fine. Give it a try.

Nice video Eric! If I use the composite mode in your example, compared to setting the nodes color space to HSL, then turning off channels 1 & 2 in the node, is it essentially the same thing? I use this technique a lot to only impact the luminance channel in the node, and was wondering what the difference would be between the two techniques.

Hello, this feature became available when version 18.6 was released last year. If you have the latest version of Resolve it will work. I'm not entirely certain that the free version of resolve will allow you to do this, so if you have the latest version and it's no the paid studio edition, that may be the issue.

Very good, but I thought your mind was going toward a Predator movie angle, the blind and screen (and invisible glass) delineating some vehicle 'cat' is in as it studies subject 'pigeon' (rock dove) but of course mourning doves are beyond that. My cat has a pillowed chair that allows him to look out the front window: to the right he sees our road, to the left he looks into the middle interior of a great cedar tree that brushes that side of the window and at times bustles with various birds (a screened pane is to the other side a table between allows transition to another chair where he can sniff at the air).

That was very helpful Eric! Quick question... what if I want to reverse this effect, ie. have the title slowly appear while the different footages are playing and end it the title with the footage still playing and then fade out to white?

at 12:47 you changed to composite mode to "normal" so it doesn't go t back...but after you changed it, it goes right back to "multiply" and still works.. 🤔 confused! 😂
@erictozzi112
@erictozzi112 Жыл бұрын
Actually the reason it says multiply while it's playing is because it's showing the transfer mode of the "selected" clip, so even though it's playing past it, the inspector is only showing the properties of the previous clip... if that makes sense.

Hi all, I would like to give one tip. In the keyframes window, you can copy (hover over the mouse, right-click and select a square) the keyframes you want. Then press the "F" key on your keyboard, and it will automatically smooth out all the keyframes. Then you can refine it yourself. But it usually works. Also, when working with keyframes, if you need to create a lot of clone frames, you do not need to do it one by one. Just open the window of keyframes, copy the keyframe, then move the mouse cursor to the panel where the number of frames is displayed, stop, forward, backward - click the right mouse button and you will see the window (Ping Pong Loop, etc.). This window is the only way to turn on. If the mouse pointer will point at the table with nodes or on the viewing window, it will not work. In short, Fusion has a lot of interesting details that not many people know about. Thanks for the video. Have a nice time, everyone.

@@Jarvik I'm fairly new to After Effects, but I've noticed a lot of buggy issues with it as well... I can't work with it for more than a few minutes without my main comp window freezing or disappearing (as in, it never updates and I can never get it to work again without restarting), or the whole thing crashing. Only plugin I've had any problems with. I ended up using a template from Creation Effects instead, which doesn't look quite as good (and wasn't free OR CHEAP), but gets the job done and is super easy to customize.

@@youtubereact_v1 Hi, I am so sorry for the delay, I'm absolutely underwater with work right now and haven't had a chance to make this tutorial. I'll need to go through my old project files (I made this back in 2015) to find it. I can tell you that the way to achieve this look is by setting up the scene with 3D layers for the paper and the BG. Add a 3D camera and plot the moves. The paper layer will become a precomp and inside the precomp is where you'll animate the stroke effect that blacks out the text. It's a rather simple approach. By using AE lights carefully placed it adds a nice sort of noir look, like the papers are in an old office.
