At 19 I found out that I didn’t have to squish into a filthy nightclub, fight at the bar get hit on by sleazy guys. I discovered Ronnie Scott’s Birmingham. My friends and I would get to Ronnies seated in the most wonderful atmosphere listen to live music, the likes of China Crisis and Nigel Kennedy, eat like kings and the wait staff would call us a cab. Sad to lose Ronnies Bham

I am a Brazilian and I was honored to work in this unforgettable place in 1999! I was the dishwasher and was very proud to be part of the team. Much missed.

One of Dad's fav haunts during the 1960's this place was. I'll NEVER forget him telling me that Ike and Tina Turner were regulars (where ever in town) during this period and in my Dad's EXACT words, "Ike was always giving it......." As a young kid, it really did capture the imagination in regards to a well documented turbulent relationship between the two.

You can't really describe the atmosphere in Ronnies - you have to experience it. seen Deodato, Lonnie Smith Trio and Billy Cobham with Guy Barker there in recent times and they've all been memorable nights. Fantastic club and respect to James, he is a fantastic musician

Been to London hundreds of times but never been to this place although I've heard of it of course. Is it difficult to get in?
@Wally-H4 жыл бұрын
@@ajs41 You have to book tickets in advance on their website - no, it's not difficult although as you can imagine, Covid has caused issues. The club is currently open for business on a reduced capacity. To book, go on their website, check the schedule, choose the show you want and buy a ticket - it's that simple.

From Christian drummer, Keith Jones Barnstaple North Devon, now retired to Bude Cornwall. Visited Ronnie's club a few times many years ago now. Always a good atmosphere and good jokes from the man himself (Ronnie Scott). Saw Buddy Rich there and drummer Art Blakey and a good time had by all.

Brilliant jazz club.Went as a teenager in the 60's to see the likes of Ben Webster, Roland Kirk, Stan Getz, Tubby Hayes...years since I had been, but saw Lee Ritenour there last year..almost 50 years since I visited..the memories were just great.This is THE place for jazz.
