The top of the sail has rigging and a cup to put over the mast. How do i rig it properly.

I have to tell you: this has got to be one of the best windsurf rigging and de-rigging instructional videos I have ever seen online. Clear, concise, and clean. And no overlooking of all the minor details which are so important in this process. Well done!! Thanks. 🤙

I have a T-9 with the same fastening system and despite watching this several times - routing the strap back through the fastener - it still slips. The metal female buckle can take some finnigling to fit through the slot of the male buckle, especially if you're contorting with a wet suit. The harness body is good but this Posilock system is more complicated than it really needs to be. .

Very useful video. I am trying to find a sailing rig for my 11 yr old nephew but nothing fits our old Windsurfer One Design. Is there a retro mast-trick pin system that would work in the One Design's track? I have found smaller mast/boom rigs that could work for him if I get the correct mast foot.

Hello, thank you for sharing your videos, they really gave me hope for repairing my ancient boards. So with that said, I have a very old F2 strato (1979-1981...) and a mistral. Both need a base retrofit to fit either in the very wide track or into the board itself. The F2 connector in the track broke off. The Mistral still has the connector inside the track. I was wondering if there is an adaptor to fit in the larger track and tighten down. I also have some questions about the masts that can flex to fit the newer sails. The F2 and the Mistral both came with very stiff masts that do not bend. The F2 did flex until I bent it too far and snap it was gone. Both boards in spite of being very old still ride very nicely. So I am ok with adapting them instead of turning them into paddle boards. what are your thoughts. Thank you for your help.

thanks for great video(s). I took a intro course a few years back and today bought my first 2nd hand board! will watch your videos to learn how to set it all up and what components i need to buy. because i am a mechanical 'purist' .. i would recommend when you tighten down a 2 bolt mast base, dont tighten each side to full tightness right away. go back and forth at least once to insure the 2 surfaces are mated flush (just like tightening lug nuts on a car) 😀

I just bought one second hand, almost unused. But the belts were a mess, the previous owner never used it the right way, probably the reason the stored it. Thanks to your video I have sorted it now and it looks like an awesome harness. Can't wait to put it into use.

Very clearly explained and demonstrated. Helps alot, I now understand why my arms are usually working so hard lol. I've been very complacent about the harness positioning, especially when frequently switching between 6.5 and 7.7 sails and leaving the lines wherever I first set them!

You can visit our website and determine if SDM or RDM mast. Then purchase the Base and Extension length / range you desire as long as they are both EP or US cup versions. These must match types.

Do wave sails requires shorter lines than free ride/slalom sails?
@isthmussailboards2 жыл бұрын
Harness line length depends on harness type and sail sizes as well as conditions you sail in (gusty lakes, vs steady ocean). Waist harness users tend toward shorter length harness lines due to higher hook heights. Seat harness users tend towards 2-6" longer harness lines vs waist. due to lower hook heights. Person height and sailing conditions also are factors to consider harness line lengths. When in doubt = buy adjustable harness lines to find your comfort zone in length and harness use type. - Jon

How does the performance of this sail compare to other beginner sails? I've seen KZbin videos of my board planning with a Simmer Style Quest 4.5. I'm looking at buying an Easyride 5.0 for my wife if it is capable of similar performance.
@isthmussailboards2 жыл бұрын
The RRD Easy Ride sail is similar to the Simmer Quest 4.5. It is capable of planing and includes a slim boom diameter clamp-on boom. x-ply window as well for more durability. Ep base and fixed extension, rdm epoxy mast. - Jon

So I got an old windsurfer at a tender center for $35. Thought it as a steal, then found out that it didn't have a mast base. The board is very old, I think 80's, and the board is a 'mistral competition SST'. I assume they are not manufactured anymore, so how can I find out how or what base to get? Should I look for things like diameter? help would be greatly appreciated.
@isthmussailboards3 жыл бұрын
If you have all the other parts, you will needs a standard diameter mast extension, and matching 1-bolt mast base. Also a conversion mast track brass plate. Here are some examples: 1-bolt mast base: isthmussailboards.com/chinook-1-bolt-rubber-us.html Standard diameter mast extension: isthmussailboards.com/chinook-aluminum-sdm-extension-us.html Conversion mast track brass plate: isthmussailboards.com/chinook-brass-slider-for-mistral-track.html This last part is necessary as the mast track car and pin on Mistral SST is no longer made or parts available. The board is 1988 or older.

Great video! Could you upload one showing how to rig a 3 pulley boom? No idea how to use them for non adjustable outhaul system, and not sure if only 1 pulley or the 3 must be used. Thx!
@isthmussailboards3 жыл бұрын
Alberto, You only need to use one pulley on most with multiple pulleys for standard outhauls. Depends on the model you have of boom. Some of our older videos for rigging Gaastra Matrix HD sails might show this approach.
