My gosh, I don’t want to stir up gender issues but do you have similar tips for dudes? I did an interview a few years ago for work and they applied some quick makeup that was awesome for the camera. I don’t know what it was but I’m wondering if it might improve my appearance. Any thoughts? I enjoy your videos a lot!

Oooo I love this question- so many thoughts!! 🥰 The face gel would work on anyone (I actually found it through a review online from a dude who said it was his filming secret weapon) cause everyone should enjoy highlighted cheekbones tbh. I’m assuming they powdered your t-zone a bit?? Any translucent (no color) powder would work well for that. Just apply some to your t-zone to take away unwanted shine on camera, and then add back in the “hydrated” look on the cheekbones with a face gel -even vaseline works!! But the easiest thing to do, too, is film with at least some natural sunlight! Its going to hide imperfections & naturally make you look your best!!

Hey quick question what format is your external? Everyone is saying that APFS is the best format. Mine is currently Exfat, so I’m painstakingly offloading everything so I can reformat it, not sure if this is necessary or not

If you’re using the external drive only with a Mac, APFS is the way to go-it’s super fast and works great with Final Cut Pro. But if you’re switching between Mac and Windows, stick with exFAT since it works on both. I use a LaCie drive formatted to APFS for my Mac, and it’s been perfect!

Ok please someone help, I am going mad now. I tried literally EVERYTHING but no... I want to add music from Apple Music, that is it. I got their subscription, and finally get everything synchronised. But Final Cut says the files are protected. I cant even see the titles or anything, but no matter what I downloaded, there is this x file is protected and unavailable error. So fed up with purchasing everything and STILL not be able to use it. Ofc everything is updated. And Apple support is not available.

Hey! Unfortunately, music from Apple Music is often protected by DRM (Digital Rights Management), which prevents it from being used in applications like Final Cut Pro. You might need to use DRM-free music or purchase music from another source that allows for editing. I hope this helps, and sorry you’re having trouble! I love Artlist.io for music… have been using it for YEARS!

Thanks for this! Can you clarify if you're using an SSD type external hard drive? Also, I am using FCP and started working with some videos stored on a hard disk drive (not SSD) and now it won't let me unplug the drive, because FCP is using it. Do I need to close FCP or what? Any help very much appreciated, cheers!

Hi! Yes, I’m using an SSD type external hard drive (a LaCie model). Regarding your issue with FCP, you would need to close FCP first before safely unplugging the hard disk drive. This will ensure that any ongoing processes are stopped and the drive can be safely ejected. Hope that helps!

Love this work-around! BUT as of today, 8.13.2024, the Auto-Captions feature is a Pro feature only, and you'll only be able to export a couple captions using the free trial of it. Not sure when this happened, or if I'm like the one exception, but I'm not surprised it's being paywalled given how prolific a feature it is. If anyone has a workaround for THIS I'd be so grateful, there are plenty of other paid plugins that do this, but the appeal for using CapCut was the freebie =(
