Hello! What do you want to learn, how to make a tray like that or how to do the gold leaf lines?
@andiortega4164Күн бұрын
Hi Anna, I think that’s a beautiful board colors are perfect. I did go out and buy a tray to actually and I’m running into the problem of the trays cracking just from the paint. I don’t use a lot of water , very little in fact. Do you have any ideas? What I could be doing wrong? I am buying my trays at HomeGoods. They are the trays that are about $16 each. Do you think that could be the problem there’s not too many that I’m finding that are actually above $20. I know you’re really busy. I’m so busy with many other things, I understand if you don’t get this question , thank you so much. God bless.

Hi, Andi! Thanks for the compliment! Shoot! That’s a bummer. It’s happened to me a few times and it’s really frustrating. 1. Is it cracking on the rim, the base, or the seams? 2. Are you using any alcohol on the wood to clean it? (Don’t recommend) 3. Are you using any pouring mediums? (I use quite a bit of floetrol) 4. What temp is the tray drying at? I have wondered if it dries too quickly (at a higher temp) if it’s more likely to crack. Sorry this is happening! When that has happened to me, someone helped me figure out a solution! You get some really strong wood glue and apply it to the crack then clamp the tray until it’s all dry. Works well!

This one turned out absolutely gorgeous Anna! Great resin tips! Another thing I’ve started doing when using the Acacia wood trays is, I put down a thin coat of clear Gesso a few days prior to pouring. I’ve found that this helps to prevent the resin for yellowing as well. I think even if the Acacia wood doesn’t have any type of varnish or finish on it, the wood coloring itself comes off even with a paper towel so the gesso helps to block it between the paint and resin. I’ve learned SOO much from you so I hope you don’t mind me sharing a few things I’ve discovered along the way as well. Much love!!💕
@AnnaKoehnArtКүн бұрын
That’s such a good tip, Treesie! Thank you for sharing, I’m always eager to learn new tips and improve! What do you apply the gesso with, a brush? And does it leave a texture at the bottom of the tray, so you have to sand it? Also have you ever run into your trays cracking as they dry?
@TreesieParadisArt17 сағат бұрын
@@AnnaKoehnArt I use the liquid CLEAR Gesso and I just apply a thin coat with a synthetic brush. I’ve never had any issues with it causing texture or any lines showing through the paint. The only time I’ve ever had any cracking in my paint is if I’ve actually put too much of a thick layer of paint. Just based on watching your videos, I think my paints are a little thicker than yours but if I stick with the formula of (example for a 13” tray) 13x13•/•28= It’s normally the perfect amount of paint. I’ve never had an issue with the tray itself cracking though. I order most of my trays from the Wonderly manufacturer and get the Acacia Wood ones with handles. I LOVE your tip of getting them from Home Goods and will be making a trip there this weekend!! 💕

Anna I wanted to let you know, you’ve inspired me yet again! I actually poured a tray that was inspired by your color palette from the last one and it turned out gorgeous! I mixed Master’s Touch Pearlized Dark Green (which is more of an olive color) and Prussian Green together and oh my goodness…what a gorgeous color!! Once it’s cured and resined, I’ll post the video and make sure I tag you to give you credit! Thank you my friend!!❤**And don’t ever get discouraged with your KZbin channel! I forgot to ask this question of you earlier when I made a comment I’m sorry to interrupt your day. I know you have little ones. If you’ve mentioned this before, I did not catch it- approximately how many ounces of paint does it take for the larger trays that you do? I think you said they were 15 inches? Thank you so much for taking the time to answer.
@AnnaKoehnArt4 күн бұрын
No problem! I use approximately 8 ounces of paint for that size of tray. A helpful tool is Art Resin's online circular calculator. They offer it on their website so people can figure out how many ounces of resin to pour over a round. You can use that to determine paint as well. Also if you do a few trays you'll get used to how much paint to use just by trial and error.

There is something so intriguing and fascinating about the beauty of pour art. I remember playing and experimenting with left over paint (acrylic urethanes and lacquers back in the days of my guitar painting career). In those days I simply poured the paint and literally moved it around with an empty airbrush. I would sprinkle in different solvents and pearl powders to get so many effects. Now retired, I’m beginning to play with the water based acrylics. I love your artwork and processes, as well as many of the other artists you’ve mentioned in this video. Thank you for doing these videos! You’re so inspiring 😊

@AnnaKoehnArt6 күн бұрын
Hi, Dominik! Yes! $200 for an 18” but I charge less for smaller. It really depends on the people.
