How is this hand dance? Isn't it West Coast Swing?
@Alvin.PratherАй бұрын
Hello, Annie. Like WCS, Hand dance is a “swing” dance. Similarities include the hand connection and lead, improvisations, same music, intricate footwork, both dance to 6 and 8 count patterns, and roots in the Lindy Hop. Both dance along a slot or track, but in addition to the slot, Hand dancers also dance in a “circular” and “street” fashion, displaying somewhat informal style and energetic movements.

did you need to ask for permission for the bay bridge shots? You're pretty close

Sorry, just seeing your comment. I wasn’t really that close; it only appears as such with the zoom lens. But permission … from whom and for what reason?

Why do they have to be dummies, Just asked 🙄
@Alvin.Prather2 жыл бұрын
I would never call a client or student a “dummy!” No way! Actually, one of my students recommended the use of the word “dummies” as a play on the popular book titles “Algebra for Dummies,” and “Calculus for Dummies” etc. it’s just a play on words for a catchy title. I apologize if it was offensive in any manner.

Well, I will just be damned. I became close with friends in Chicago 22 yrs ago. They have been trying to teach me to step every since then. But Nuttin'! Couldn't Step for love nor money. It's clearly all about the teacher. I find this video by chance because I finally have a friend who likes to dance and in less than five minutes, he and I are Stepping like we know what we're doing. Now, we are no Spring Chickens so there isn't a lot of fancy stuff, but we are in time, on the beat and smoooothe!!! Thank you Alvin for your very clear and concise instructions. Have you thought of conducting classes here in Durham, NC??
