what a great goal by Amokachi, a player who never got the credit he deserved during his time with the toffees IMHO.

Good game, Fuller harshly penalised but penno at the other end also denied. Sorro would surely have saved it. Didn’t remember Arteta played for you Toffees. RIP Gary Speed.

I always remember Gazza at Everton as way past his best but watching this tells another story, he still had a lot to offer on his day. His feet were so quick and his vision for a pass was genius. I hope he's able to look back on his career with some fondness now and that he can get some peace of mind, there's so much love for him out there.

I was there , great game but cant believe how bad our pitch was back then . The replay was better on a proper pitch .

The old days! Love vintage matches . The great Derby and now the Blues have risen against the Reds Everton v Liverpool and Man.City v Man.Utd but City began to rise little by little by 2006

Yakubu had a brilliant first season for us didn't he. 21 goals in all competitions, two hat-tricks I believe also along the way. This Everton side probably could and should have broken that trophy drought, a combination of quality and grafters in the side.

Everton, very enjoyable watching them at this time. I went to both the wins v west ham that week. Always enjoyed going to Upton Park. Seen Everton win there so many times dating back to the 80s.

The peak of the Moyes era. This team had so much character and somehow so much quality despite relatively limited financial power compared to the other top 7. It felt at this stage that a trophy was imminent, sadly the Cup Final loss to Chelsea a week later, it never quite got back to where it was.
@jameshughes9329 Жыл бұрын
The commentator.. "The first question is how did he miss and the second is what's wrong with him?" He was chopped down from behind in what should have been a certain penalty and red card, strange how in those days players got away with things without any kind of question asked

Gazza was absolutely class wasn't he, even at this latter stage of his career.
