What the ISOL switch do?

It controls a valve on the FCU that activates its emergency circuit and isolates/bypasses its main fuel control circuit. With it active engine power is controlled with the fuel shutoff lever instead of the power control lever. It is a simple backup should you get problems with the main circuit.
