16:04 I think that's Kaipo Asing doing a good job as MC. This is the kind of stuff you learn on the bandstand. They don't teach you that in music conservatory, lol. Being a good MC is an art unto itself, and Kaipo does it very well.

Aloha! Mahalo nui for the comment. I am sorry that it is very hard to find even in Japan now. That guitar was built-to-order product so the number is limited. They had stopped to accept orders over twenty years ago.

Aloha! Great playing! I play with George Kuo and noticed that your double-neck resembles the double-neck George Kuo plays today? George told me that he had acquired his from Japan. I was wondering if you could share how I would able to buy or order a double-neck for myself? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Absolutely gorgeous. Thank you. In 1986 (or there abouts) El Rayo-X was appearing at The Belly-Up Tavern in Solana Beach, CA. (I saw them there a couple of times) a few miles from my hometown of Escondido) and I made a point of arriving a little earlier than usual to catch him pre-show after their sound check to make a special "offering" personally to Mr. Dave himself of something near and dear to his well-known "shameful, lustful sickness" ( his words) for cheap & weird polyester. I presented to him two pieces of clothing - one pair of white Farrah slacks with green & yellow verticle stripes that looked just like Beech Nut Fruit Striped gum, with a wide bell-bottom flare - which he was very impressed with ("Where th' HELL did you find these? El-Habu is pleased!" he said with a fraternal bow) as well as a God-awful shiny Polyester buttoned shirt of black, red, and white swirls, with very wide lapels ("This shirt looks ANGRY" he said, holding it out and admiring it with a evil smile... The only cost for them, I said, was if I could do for him MY Jimmy Stewart impression, seeing as how he was so well known for his. He said in this best Jimmy, "W-w-w-ell s-s-ure, of c-c-c-ourse, son!" and then channeling my Jimmy, I did mine for him.... and, although I can't say here what it was I said (I could, but I won't) but he threw his head back and roared, laughing so hard he almost pissed himself, I mean laughed for a solid 3 or 4 minutes, saying, "Oh! Oh! That's just The Shit, man, that's so messed up!! Oh m-a-a-a-n!!" and then had me repeat it for a member of the band who was standing nearby (rather Jorge Calderon or Bernie Larson, I can't recall now.) Later, during the show, he repeated my line Jimmy Stewart style into the mike during their Ska-tinged "Werewolves Of London" and, while no one in the crowd had a clue what it meant, I was so proud of that moment, that I made someone that I admire so much so happy with laughter & joy with an inside joke that I'm sure he would remember and take with him, that made my night!! The afternoon that he died I just sat down and teared up, like getting punched in the stomach, just in absolute disbelief.....it was hard to believe that someone so cool, with so much soul & once-in-a-lifetime talent as Mr. David Lindley could be taken away.....I am a guitarist as well, and David Lindley's stunning tone, touch & style runs deep, deep like the big muddy, but when I think of him I will always think of his laugh that night...that man, I tell you, was a conduit for soul & joy.... R.I.P., El Habu.

He's always with us in his music ZW! Maybe have a photo of yourself, ZW in a VW with Mr. Polyester by your side! That would be a great holiday card!

Woaw, between all the greats. Sounds and feels like one big family. Do you think your Clinesmith frypan sounds as good as Bobby's Rickenbacher? I am still trying to make a horse-shoe pickup like in these lap steel guitars, but so far no luck.....Thanks for uploading.

I have owned two Rick prewar Frypans and tried a few, I could say Clinsmiths are as great as Rickenbachers. Although I love my Rickebachers. They have real oldie vibes.

That's a great song. Listening a second time. Interesting tuning. Prefer A6 to C6 on lap steel but have been fooling around with open C (CGCGCE) on Weissenborn. Hadn't occured to me yet to try adding A for the 6th and minor chords. Ha.

C Mauna Loa tuning (CGEGAE) is one of Gabby Pahinuiʻs favorite tuning. He is also a genius of 8 string C6 steel guitar.

@@KikaKila yes I do I live in Hawaii. I have a 1936 Gibson eh-100 black 7 string, and a 1947 Gibson br-6 black 6 string. The 7 string I tune low to high CEGACEG = c6 high G. The 6 string low to high GBDF#AD

Great guitars! C6 highG is the same one as Bobby Ingano uses. Before Covid-19, I participated in Hawaiʻi Island Steel Guitar Festival in Kona. Bobby gladly played with me.

Beautiful! I wonder how many of us would be building and playing Weissenborns had not Mr. Dave rescued them from the dust bin of history and showed their beautiful sound to the world. He was a well of inspiration. I going to miss hearing new music from him but am glad he left us with so much recorded music. RIP Dave.
