Hi Ms. Becky - Thank you very much. I'm glad you've left the video up in place after a few years. I watched a few other solitaire videos yesterday & tried to play solitaire for the first time & managed to get to a complete game on the 4th try. But watching other videos -like this one- has cleared up a few more points. No one I knew closely over the years ever seemed to play. . Eight years ago, I learned to play cribbage after also learning the sport of curling-in the winter up here where I live. Those two things seem to traditionallly go together. A few months ago, I also started to play whist. . In order to share cribbage, I often teach new players, like I was once. So I know a small bit about teaching cards. . I really like your relaxed & unrushed teaching style, and how you began this video with the absolute card-playing basics. I'm going to remember that for my own teaching style. You are also very positive and enjoyable to watch :-) . I also liked Grandpa’s interjections. That was fun. I'm going to watch some of your other videos next. . The reason I am able to do this right now is because of extra time available with the holidays. Happy New Year 2025 to you and your family! :-) . In cribbage, we say “Keep on pegging!” :-)

Questions: what happens if all four cards are the same number or letter, for instance all four cards are 5’s or all four cards are Kings? Do we remove all four cards? Like we do if the first and the fourth are the same value? Thanks in advance for your reply. 😎

Too much talk and not enough teaching

I watched this video four days ago and I beat it just now after dinner. Reminds me of my grandma and thank you for teaching it

My grandfather and I would always play a version of this game! But every time there was a play on the board and I wouldn’t play it it would be called a mistake. And he would give me an extra card. I will forever remember playing that game with him!

Hey Miss Becky, wonder if you have an odd card left over from your three that you use does that mean you screwed up?

I absolutely adored this and my daughter asked me if I had ice boxes when I was a kid (I was born in 1984)! We made the icebox cake for my husband's birthday and it was phenomenal and easy. I shared this video with a Facebook homeschool group and I am sure your wonderful grandparents will get a lot more views. Your grandfather is a true delight to listen to!

Why when you flip 3 cards, you only use the 3rd card? You don't use any of the other cards from the 3 card flip.

In the first game you missed the black Jack on the right that could go on top of the red Queen on the left and leave you with a card to flip.

We used to make sure that the first and last card would match either suit or number so it would be easier to win thats how i was taught.

You missed putting the black Jack on the red Queen in the first hand, a red 2 could've gone on the black 3 in the second hand, and there were other misses.
