One of the best looking cars out there even today. Live 2 miles from where they was built. Remember going past it on the way to Brum in the late 60s. They are huge in real life

This is by far the worst part of the job. It has taken me longer to remove just this tube than the entire rest of the job. Why porsche. Why.

Very useful video once again. Did you modify the gasket on the radiator blanking (non-blow off) cap in some way to help stop the overflow issues?

Despite what Governments, activists, the elites and the scaremongers tell us, e-fuel (synthetic) is the future. And yes, you can come back to this comment in 40 years time to give me the thumbs up when I am proven correct. Thanks in advance (I'll be dead by then anyway but there are three certain things: death, taxes and me never ever buying an EV - even if I won Lotto).

Really interesting stuff, thanks for posting. I rented LPB in September 2014 when (presumably) these valve seat recession / low compression issues were already well established, but the car still performed well in the two days I had it, with no obvious misfiring. It pulled strongly and swiftly without any hesitation to 4,000+ rpm in each gear, and also wafted along at under 2,000rpm in top very smoothly. I assume that under actual running conditions, i.e. being fully warmed up, helped to compensate for / reduce compression loss via the damaged valve seats. The only issue I experienced was hot starting (e.g. refuelling after a run), which took up to 20 seconds of cranking. However, period road tests mention this, so I didn't think anything of it at the time. Also, when I rented it, I specifically asked what fuel to use and if an additive was needed. I was told unleaded was fine.

It's always interesting when a video ends with "I should have paid someone to do this". LOL... Thanks for the video! And I guess one more reason to NOT buy aftermarket mounts. The Genuine Porsche are a lot more money, but worth it, I guess!

Currently working on my 928 AC, got the compressor off about to pull it apart, not a Denso but internal working should be similar, interesting with R152A, may explore that avenue Great in depth video, I too will probably regret opening this can of worms

Thanks for your video. Question: what is the width between the forward jacking points on the 944? I am thinking about a mi-rise scissor lift (bendpak md6xp or stratus 9000x) and wondering if there are comparability issues because the front and back 944 Jack points don’t align.

2:15 the protrusion on the filler flap pushes the little tang (part 76 in diagram), which in turn depresses the switch plunger to open the circuit. The tang is attached with 2 rivets, visible earlier. Over time, the tang fatigues and breaks off. New tang difficult to find but available used, or can be fabricated

I have changed this approach slightly because i just cant get out the 16 litres + of coolant, to simply use a 50/50 ready mix. The last time I just added 8 litres of bluecol then topped it up ensuring a 50/50 mix.

I suggest you join the Jensen Owners Club and ask that same question on their forum. There are some very knowledgeable and enthusiastic people who I am sure could answer your question. For my part, yes they need a live feed as the live feed would have gone to the solenoid. Should be protected with a fuse in my opinion and I can only really refer you to my video. Thats the best i can do thanks.

But maybe yours was done properly with the lip on the chrome surround retained. Mine was just inserted without a lip. We’ve done a fair bit of travelling in the car, including an all day rally event and everything is still perfectly in place so in MHO in practice its been successful.
