Thanks so much for posting this. Finally found some Wilcox vids that actually SHOW what he is playing. Love it. Now I can try and figure out some of his tunes. Thanks again.

David Wilcox uses an open D tuning (DADF#AD) for his song "Blow 'Em Away." This tuning allows for a rich, resonant sound and facilitates the slide guitar techniques prominently featured in the track.

There are performers that seem to play with staying on key , vocally, but Wilcox, at least on this song , doesn’t pull it off. Maybe tired , maybe lazy , but I’d sooner hear Declan Macmanus have a go at this one.

It's so rare to hear a song that is from a vulnerable male viewpoint, and I think that makes this song resonate. It's haunting, and one of my lifetime favorites, as is David Wilcox.

David, I have been a fan for a very long time. I bought the original CD LotH was released on. I am finishing a novel with the working title of Language of the Heart. It was inspired by actual events in my life and the title and lyrics of this song. Strange how the universe works. I regret my wife and I have never seen you in person. If Omicron doesn't interfere with your tour, perhaps we can drive to Tucson from Vegas to catch your show on February 22nd. You absolutely killed it on this performance.

There is a clarity in songwriting talent here that is an un-tapped treasure! The studio version is as beautiful as this live recording... INCLUDING the rude audience phone ringing... TWICE! David, thank you regardless of this minimal 'internet' reaction. You are one of my top 3 singer/songwriters including Stephen Bruton (Just A Dream) from Austin, TX. You are a true pleasure to play along with out here in lock-down land. You sailed past those interruptions cool as a cucumber which was all A1 class. Finesse is hard sometimes to maintain let alone capture and reproduce. My 45 years of playing gets schooled daily by players like you with your skills. Thank you doesn't come close.
