Do you know the c 15 made in USA Kodak instamatic camera 1970s it has a blue colour on it and sais instamatic x 15 I have one at home does that use regular old fashion film? Just not sure I worried it not the camera I expected
@StrawbearyStudios8 күн бұрын
My understanding is the instamatic x15 takes a 126 cartridge. A cartridge that would hold regular 35mm film and make it easier for the photographer to insert and remove the film. Unfortunately, they stopped producing the 126 cartridges. However, I have seen some people make adapters for normal 35mm rolls to fit. It might be something worth looking into!

Hi I’m Ryan I love your videos do you like the 90s fashion I have a 70s style camera and I had jean short shorts and cowboy boots look. and the photo came out really good do all film look different just wasn’t sure
@StrawbearyStudios10 күн бұрын
Hey Ryan! Yes, I love 90s fashion. That sounds like a fun shoot! Depending on the film stock it will have a different color profile. A good rule of thumb is the color of the canister. Kodak has a yellow base, Fuji has a green base, so on and so forth. I hope that helps answer your question! Thanks for watching :)

The scene with the beam of light is inspired by the painting Hypnosis by Sascha Schneider. I think you'd be interested in the subtext of that and it's implications on the film as a whole.

17:56 the underworld is not synonymous with hell, what you’re describing is an interpretation of hell, the river of Styx doesn’t exactly fit in there, you’d have to change your interpretation of the water and the boat to make this make sense

The Lighthouse did this weird thing - great performances (I've not seen either of them better) wonderful direction and editing. but the B&W was so bright in my cinema that even the smallest amount of white on the screen lit up the entire auditorium as though the lights were constantly switched on all the time. Parasite in B&W didn't do it, but Lighthouse did. Anyway, a really great film though, stayed with me a long time. Nice video about the range of stuff viewed, btw.

The point about journalling is so true! There are times where I've journalled and it has made everything so much clearer. It's so interesting and motivating to look back at later. I don't always make time to journal and I definitely notice the difference when I do vs when I don't. My mind tends to be so busy and writing it down makes the thought cloud disappear and leave room for creativity. Thank you for your thoughts! ❤

hii!! i really really liked your interpretation :) i just watched this movie yesterday and some interviews with rob and willem, and rob mentions that probably everybody making the film thought it was about something completely different and i rlly liked that! i feel like your interpretation fits prefectly <3 (also, feel free to ignore, but i thought your interpretation was by far the best part of the video, and it was a shame that i came after 15 mins of summary. since i watched the movie, and i imagine most people who watched your vid did too, i think a structure that could work better would be providing your interpretation as the island = purgatory/hell at the start of the video, and providing examples to illustrate your theory with scenes of the film throughout the video! this way, you bring something new with every scene, and i think you have a lot of interesting things to say so i feel like you would definitely be able to still fill 20 mins if you wanted to do that :) anyways that was my lil tidbit, again, i rlly enjoyed the vid!)

Thank you! I appreciate your feedback! I’ll have to keep that in mind for the next time I discuss a film. It’s not what I typically do on my channel so I’m still trying to figure out what structure works best. You’ve given me some great ideas.

I'm kind of refusing to upgrade to mirrorless anytime soon due to cost. Everyone talks up the mirrorless but my Canon 6D MKII does what I need it to. I love that it has GPS which is nice for when I forget where I took a picture, a swivel screen (this is a must for me) I get 1200 shots to a battery, I almost never have to think about charging. Also has bluetooth connection if I wanna quickly transfer stuff to my phone. I'm recently getting into film simulation. I'm excited to go try it out. I found Thomas Fransson whose made some film sim profiles for Canon. I'm still getting into filters. I use diffusion filters a lot (The K&F ones). I've been getting into vintage lenses too and adapting them. I have the Helios 44-2 which has a really cool unique swirly bokeh. Looking to get a Pentax M 50mm F1.7 next. I have fancier lenses like the 16-35mm F4 for wide shots. I use this one a lot of indoor and landscapes. A cheap 50mm Yongnuo F1.8, a Canon 40mm F2.8 (this has recently become my new favorite because it's very close to a the actually perspective that we see) Also it's very light and thin. I have a 60-600mm Sigma that I splurged on. It's insane. The optical stabilization allows me to easily take photos at 600mm with a 1/50 shutter. It autofocuses super quick and quiet, the mic doesn't pick it up. I use it for wildlife mostly. It's super sharp. I should add that it's heavy though at 5.5lbs. It's a bit of a hassle to bring out sometimes. But yeah, I like having the variety so I can't get bored easily. One for general, one for wide and one for close.

You make some very valid points and ones that many creatives feel and go through whatever creative fields they are in. On your comment about IG I think you are right getting conversation going is harder and perhaps people talk more via DM’s. One social media channel that is great for creatives and generates discussion is Vero. Maybe take a look?

I agree on the comment about the color combination being potentially too Christmas-like, but I feel that the saturation and tone very much distance themselves from that sort of theme. You established your theme verbally, and the overall vibe of the photos instantly made me think of that! Also, at this point you and Sydney are pretty much who I think of whenever Dynamic Duo comes to my mind LOL
