The A400 Piston ring (the piece he bent putting the barrel/gas cylinder onto the end of the mag tube) is $23 from Coles or other reputable suppliers. You don’t need to replace the piston AND ring for $80+. In years of using A400’s I’ve never seen the firing pin retainer pin walk out of the bolt body, never heard of it happening outside of this video.
@philpremschak534711 ай бұрын
Appreciate the comment. At the time, the ring by itself was listed as a separate part in the catalog but like many things post-pandemic it was “unobtainium” so buying the $80 unit was the only option. Hopefully that has since changed.

Hey Phil I appreciate your video, I have an exact Browning Cynergy to that one but I'm having an issue with it where the trigger locks up as if the safety is applied and I have to open and close the gun before I can shoot, have you ever seen or heard of that before, please let me know I really need to get it fixed.

Thanks so much. Your video was very helpful. My firing pins were terribly carbon-fouled, and I had no clue how to clean them before watching your video. Reattaching the rockers was much more difficult for me than it appears to have been for you. I had to use both hands to press the rockers against the strikers hard enough to depress the striker springs while my wife hammered the rocker pin home. Was I doing something wrong? I suspect the gun wasn't cocked when I disassembled it. If my gun had been cocked, would that have saved me from having to depress the striker spring?
@philpremschak5347 Жыл бұрын
Did you return the top thumb lever to center? Not doing that would cause pressure as well - in the video I returned it to center using the bolt that holds the stock to the action. See this article for more details www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=262862
@timothyanderson9933 Жыл бұрын
Yes sir,@@philpremschak5347 , I returned the top-lever to center with the through bolt, just as you instructed. I’m sure it would have been even more difficult if I had not. Thanks for the article you provided a link to. Great reference! I’m grateful to whoever took the considerable time it must have taken to write it.

Yes, excellent video. I have a related question. Do you have a video focusing on the safety slider/barrel selector? Thanks

I do not, as I have not had any issues with the barrel selector. I’m not a gunsmith, just a guy attempting to fix his own stuff.

Great video. Right on both issues. I think Beretta design team did a pisspoor job on the little pin (and the even smaller washer) that hold the firing pin. It is a BAD design. Too fragile. Benelli has a similar design, but they use a much heftier pin which for me has lasted over a decade without any issues.

What’s the benefit of doing this? I just keep my hand over the barrels and allow the cartridges to eject half way in to my hand and pull the rest out
@chadbaldwin9363Ай бұрын
My 13 year old had trouble with catching the shells. It's just easier to have the shells pop up and remove by hand and into the bag they go.
@michailpanchev99522 жыл бұрын
Oh, linear hammers, travelling backwards. Interesting! And how are they cocked?
@robertwelch5584 Жыл бұрын
They both get cocked when opening the action (mechanical triggers) and do not rely on the first round being fired to cock the second trigger. They are much faster that way.

@@philpremschak5347 Both shoulder nicely. My "drawback" is i'm a left handed shooter, and most guns I pick up have some sort of right hand palm swell. Not a big deal, but it is an annoyance if i'm going to pay 2-3 thousand on a shotgun, which is another reason i like the Cynergy it has an ambi grip from the ones i've seen.

any double fires after the change?
@philpremschak53472 жыл бұрын
Never had any double fires. The issue was hang ups, firing on a lag after pulling trigger; kinda like a musket. The cleaning did reduce but not eliminate issue.

@philpremschak53472 жыл бұрын
Perhaps assembled wrong, perhaps they changed. My Cynergy is over 10 yrs old. They are the same part but hand fitted for timing. As long as both barrels eject in sync, I wouldn’t worry about it

@bobhuffman25922 жыл бұрын
At 12:29 where you put the C clip back on. I find that if you take a small screwdriver & push the pin back out to where the pin cut out is flush with the receiver, the C clip slides right in. Lay the clip on the receiver & gently push it back on to the pin. When the pin is pushed all the way in there is a small lip there that is causing issues getting it to pop back on. Great video thought, I could not find anyone to work on mine that won't take a month or more. This gave me the confidence to do it myself. J&P got the parts to me very quickly.

Thanks for the vid. I'm just wondering if it Is it bad to close action/bolt release on a empty chamber? Just bought a a400 and I feel like I shouldn't do that as manual translates (English version) saying ease action close, gently or somethinglike that? Cheers

I often close the action when the chamber is empty. I don’t think it will cause any harm.
