Carnival was around May 8th if I remember correctly. In the puritanical topsy turvy world we now live half the carnival would be arrested for what’s laughingly called cultural appropriation. In many ways the old days really were the best.

I live in a town because i don't want to live in a city for many reasons. Crawley was a market town now its a supermarket town sole les places where nobody talks to each other, l was in mark's in town watching the head of council walking about, and nobody stooped to speak with him. I asked Paul who works there if he knew who that bloke was, he had no idea, shows how faceless this council has become. I asked 4 people if they knew him, all had no idea. Your council leaders should be local celebrity's, people we all know and respect. Crawley Town, not a faceless city where nobody knows anybody, big crimes, riots, more regulations, civil enforcement agents wondering looking do fine people, demonstrations, rubbish everywhere, No to "Citys, as it says on the tin. Crawley Town. Has anybody been to a labour run city lately. No to city No to labour agendas. Never ever labour,, is my new slogan City would destroy ou Town even more, like Croydon Council woke gone broke.

Aviation alternative fuel is year over 30 away and not a reality now. Planes would have to be in production now to be ready to fly in 2050! Aviation not only produces carbon but also N0X and vapours which is more than the carbon it produces and is seriously damaging climate change as well as 2.5 particles that cause serious health issues. To keep looking to one commercial airport for jobs is repeating the mistakes of the last down turn in 2008. Green and more sustainable travel and jobs have to be the future for the next generation and those that have already lost jobs at Gatwick due to automation. Gatwick is a leisure airport as such caters for a very small sector of the UK population who fly a lot whilst all residents subsidise aviation due to it not paying VAT or duty.

*4% of Mammals are Wild + 4% of Energy is Renewable + 2% of Energy is Solar & Wind* Total greenhouse gases are up 45% in 30 years. 66% of us will live in water stressed areas by 2025. Water stress will threaten 50% of thermal power capacity . North Euro solar panels work 11% of the time. North Euro onshore wind turbines work 22% of the time. North Euro offshore turbines work 30% of the time. Offshore Texas turbine work 35% of the time. 4% of global energy is renewable. 2% of global energy is solar and wind. Electricity is 20% of total global energy. The F-35 fighter jet works 10% of the time. Most solar panels will be un-recyclable garbage. We have to stop burning 50% of fossil fuels in 10 years to survive runaway habitat collapse and hothouse extinction. Weather = flash floods + flash fires + flash mobs + flash infections Climate = 30 years of it From 1971-2018 oceans took up 89% of the 358 zeta joules of net energy from the sun, ice took up 4% of it, land took 6% of it and the lower atmosphere only took 1% From 1971-2018 solar heating averaged 0.47 watts/m² From 2010-2018 heating went up to 0.87 watts/m² = rapid acceleration To force rapid heating back down from 0.87 w/m² we have to cut C02 from 410 ppm to 353 ppm. Dear Councillor Denman My suggestion is to bring some big brands such as IKEA etc. to Crawley. Also please improve K2 to bigger international ground for major athletic and group events even music events and exhibitions. Also my another suggestion would be on developing the Hawth to a national scale. It is too small for us. The status of art and entertainment here in Crawley does not match with population and future demands. Crawley needs to be prepared for higher standard of living if it is planned to attract investors and expertise. South east England does need a modern hub rather than London and Crawley has all ingredients specially space ,good airport ,good number of hotels and a good rail-road.

Hello is the government the only source of funds for building a university? that would be better if people themselves start participation in making universities and hospitals. I believe there are so many rich individuals who want to do something important but don't know where and have no idea. May be by getting in touch with some people there is a chance for attracting their interest. Any where in the world people are happy in making universities and hospitals.

Thanks for your reply. It means I was wrong. I see Crawley as a hub in the middle of south England. Gatwick airport and express trains there is a bigattraction for big businesses here. HE and other businesses should be close to eachother and I think here there is huge potential for these activities. The position of this town in between Brighton and London is unique. Investing on infrastructure specially transportation is fundamental for industry and jobs. HE, Entertainment and industry are keys

It seems there is no plan for bringing a university here in Crawley which can inject fresh blood to the town. This city needs entertaiment and a fresh atmosphere for younger people who can blow a fresh air to the town. If there is no university, no entertainment no attraction for younger and active generation then forget about development....

We keep talking about housing but the ones that need the housing aren't being catered for in Crawley. Knocking down homes to expand airports doesn't help the situation. How long has that block of apartments been boarded up opposite the hospital? There are lots of empty buildings for office spaces and lots of empty shop locations in our town but very high renting prices. This is stifling local business' from setting up and keeping shops empty and our town looking bare and run down.
