Africa’s underlying problem is not neocolonialism, but rather official corruption and very bad governance, which started from Nkrumah’s regime and lack of ability to extract and add value to our natural resources in Africa,if now fragmented Africa becomes a single entity in future and the underlying problems, especially bad governance now inhibiting economic growth in individual Africa countries persist, the continent would still be an empty giant. Issuing citizens identification cards with their residential addresses and streets naming with signs and numbers on buildings to facilitate directions, were necessary groundworks which should have occurred during Nkrumah’s reign, but were ignored. Rather Nkrumah established ghana airways just to fly government officials and the few elites overseas. How many Ghanaians were traveling abroad in the sixties to justify making investments in ghana airways a top priority over rural development to supply hard working farmers and workers with clean drinking water and electricity?

Why not just say neo - colonialism...If you don't and say "the old colonial system continues", then you're not even differentiating between indirect and direct forms of imperialism, and that would mean denying the freedom movement, and saying that hard won political sovereignty was entirely useless... When you're such, it is then that history shows us the value of what we're taking for granted... For example, in Indian academics, the "progressive" boomers took constitution, elections, secularism etc FOR GRANTED, UNDERVALUED them and NOW UNDER MODI, they regret it 😅 If VP and his comrades continue to say "colonialism continues" instead of neo - colonialism, who knows, the course of history might show them the difference really soon😅

So whiny. How many years and generations do you need to learn stop throwing all your trash in the rivers? Gonna blame that on the British too? Of course they took wealth back to England, why the heck would they spend all that effort just to give it to India? Sometimes you gotta put yourself in other people's historical shoes. And which country helped Britain develop? Oh that's right, themselves... This whole "colonialism is everywhere and the fault of everything" is finally falling apart for it's overly-simplistic stupidity.

The family ruling in Togo is called Gnassingbe (pronounced "nyasingbe"). The name Eyadema is the former President's middle name. He was called Eyadema Gnassingbe. The confusion comes from the fact in Togo they prefer to call the surname before calling the first or middle name. The Gnassingbe family has been ruling with support from the Army.

The NDC man on the set does also not understand what has been happening in our neighbouring countries. I agree with him on the failure of ECOWAS and the African Union.

Madame, your analysis is faulty because you do not understand what has been happening in these countries. You need to learn more. I am not surprised you are campaigning for Alan Kyremanteng. You have a long way to go. I pray for you to change, but you need to learn.

At independence,if ghana was fortunate to have a humble and meticulous leader like lee kuan yew, ghana now would be like Singapore. While lee kuan yew was busy laying strong foundations for the future growth of his newly independent country, and didn’t have time for the problems in his neighborhood Vietnam. Nkrumah on the other hand, from far away ghana, leader of a newly independent country without basic infrastructures such as roads and highways, had time to travel to Vietnam on a peace mission. On his way to Vietnam, his dictatorial government was toppled by the ghana Army and police. The one and only coup in ghana masterminded by the army and police. Currently, more than sixty years after independence, ghana doesn’t have a single highway running from south to north or east to west. Instead of Nkrumah, upon ghana’s independence, deploying the army of his newly independent country of six million people and more importantly without basic infrastructures such as roads and highways to help spearhead a revolution in new roads and highways construction across their newly independent country,Nkrumah rather deployed them in Congo to fight. Ironically, the soldiers Nkrumah deployed in Congo to fight, returned to ghana to overthrow his dictatorial and oppressive government. Had Nkrumah had the vision of humility to adopt a peaceful option of negotiations for total liberation of Africa and engaged his soldiers at home to help execute national and patriotic duty of new roads and highways construction across their newly independent country, the practical task of helping to construct new roads and highways would have prevented them from planning to overthrow Nkrumah. And Nkrumah would have had the necessary political stability to accomplish his dreams for ghana and Africa. Issuing citizens identification cards with their residential addresses and streets naming with signs and numbers on buildings to facilitate directions, were important groundworks which should have occurred during Nkrumah’s reign to help catapult ghana on the road of sanity, but were ignored by Nkrumah. Rather Nkrumah established ghana airways, just to fly government officials and few elites abroad. How many Ghanaians were traveling abroad in the sixties to justify making investments in ghana airways a top priority over rural development to supply hard working farmers with clean drinking water and electricity?

anti-colonial state, propaganda, managing other countries' affairs, pressuring other countries for the sake of hegemony of their country and its groups, anti-Islamic countries, otherwise why not attack Israel, what's the point of being the number one country in all aspects, namely America is unable to lead world stability and peace, they only maintain hegemony and do not want other countries to progress and be equal, namely America, NATO, England, France, Australia, Japan and other followers of Satan😢😢

Ghana the first subsaharan Africa country to gain independence was not intended by the colonial masters to be an island of independent country in black Africa, it was a pilot program designed by the colonial masters to determine how the first independent black Africa country leaders would manage their affairs. But unfortunately for ghana and Africa, the first dictator and egotistical Nkrumah,a man who upon becoming the first leader of newly independent ghana could not find a wife in his own country, but a white woman from Egypt, apparently failed to see that. Instead of Nkrumah, upon ghana’s independence, deploying a simple strategy of displaying prudent and convincing management of limited resources in combination with high level negotiations aimed to convince the colonial masters for total liberation of Africa. Nkrumah rather and arrogantly, opted to exploit resources meant for providing infrastructures across his newly independent country to spur future economic growth in an unwarranted war for total liberation of Africa. Nkrumah funded tema motorway 18miles and stopped, however as part of his war path strategy for total liberation of Africa, he doled out 10million pounds to Guinea, which could have been used to extend the motorway to northern ghana. Shocking but it’s true, more than sixty years after independence, ghana doesn’t have a single highway running from south to north or east to west. Instead of Nkrumah, deploying the services of the army of his newly independent country of six million people and more importantly without basic infrastructures such as roads and highways to help spearhead a revolution in new roads and highways across their newly independent country,Nkrumah rather deployed them in Congo to fight. Ironically, the soldiers Nkrumah deployed in Congo to fight, returned to ghana to overthrow his oppressive and dictatorial government. And Nkrumah would have had the same political stability great man lee kuan yew of Singapore had to make his dream of a modern and civilized Singapore a reality. Africa’s underlying problem is not neocolonialism but rather official corruption and very bad governance, which started from Nkrumah’s regime and lack of ability to extract and add value to our natural resources in Africa,if now fragmented Africa becomes a single entity in future and the underlying problems, especially bad governance now inhibiting economic growth in individual Africa countries persist the continent would still be an empty giant. So clearly the best way forward,is to emphasize good governance in individual countries before long lasting africa union can be sustained. This is very important,if we don’t want to continue the evolution of OAU to AU. Finally I describe Nkrumah’s war for total liberation of Africa as unwarranted because it’s my conviction that, if you have a peaceful option of negotiations to resolve an impasse, why go for war, which entails loss of lives and financial losses?
