I have an Exodus Rival camera and it’s been nothing but problems with connectivity. Exodus knows about the issue, 4 months of ownership and I still can’t use the cellular portion. Support was absolutely useless and they won’t refund. I highly recommend passing on Exodus

If you hunt long enough this is gonna happen. Good job on being persistent & having a backup plan lined up with the dog. That calf deserved as much effort as a trophy bull

Seriously? What were you given for this review? I had the snake boots, made of the same "mesh" for breathability, and at 75 degrees my feet and shins were soaked with sweat. Can't speak to the warmth of the model you have here, but the snake boots are comfort rated at -4 to 59 degrees. This is not even close to reality. At 55 my feet were freezing. And once temps passed the 75 degree mark, they were sweating. They were waterproof as advertised. Which is great, and the biggest selling point for me, as I was buying them for pond fishing, and planning on walking, and standing in marshy areas. However, this did not last long as just shy of 8 months of wearing them 1 or 2 times a week, some weeks not at all, the rubber on top of my right ankle split, and the boot leaked. So, they are definitely lacking in durability.

I think you need to recheck your math dude. Exodus charges $7 per month per camera aka the Line Fee. Then you pay for the data. So with 3 Ex cams your paying $26 month but your getting 250 more pics. But you could run 2 more tacticams and get 250 more pics for less money.
@huntready14353 ай бұрын
I noticed the Cody Road next to ya. They ain't too far from me!
@MoveOutdoors3 ай бұрын
You are correct, I didn’t account for the line fee. That’s a misunderstanding on my end, as I stated in the video that it’s a $7 setup fee, not a $7/month line fee which is my mistake. Although I’ll still stay with Exodus I think, I’ve had far too many issues with my Tactacam’s including watching deer walk in front of them and getting no pictures. And Cody Road isn’t too far from me either lol.
@huntready14353 ай бұрын
Yea not super impressed with my tacticams. If you were to add in the $9 per month fee for on demand pics and videos you'd be pretty close to exodus prices. I thought you were out of Pennsylvania?

Are sight tapes calibrated from 15 vs 20 yards?
@MoveOutdoors3 ай бұрын
Sight tapes are calibrated at 20 and 60 yards. You’ll find your 20, place the sight in tape on the wheel and then find your tape number based on where 60 lands
@RJ-qq8kb3 ай бұрын
Sure. I’ve got an HHA single pin slider that uses the same method. Presently I’m using a fixed pin sight with my pins set at 15 and 25 yards. There’s less room for error with this calibration. It sounds like I may have to use a blank tape and just mark it for my set-up if I decide to go with a different sight.

Here you go. The rules on senior, junior, disabled and military. I would also agree on senior hunters having the ability to shoot any size buck. WHTM Morning Weather. Currently, senior hunters can only take a buck that has at least three legal points on at least one side including the brow tine. Maloney says the rules would place restrictions in line with junior hunters, mentored youth, disabled hunters, and resident active-duty armed services personnel.Mar 6, 2023

I am going to guess the rounds you used were Powerbelts? That is typical performance for them! You did well with the situation you were in. I use harvester crushed rib sabots and the hornaday 300 grain .430 xtp hollow point. It's a 44 mag bullet but works great with those sabots and 110 grain charge of blackhorn 209 powder.
@MoveOutdoors6 ай бұрын
I was using Traditions Smackdown Carnivore 250’s, but in talking with people it sounds like what I experienced is fairly typical for those rounds. I’ll add the hornady to the list of things to try for next muzzleloader season

What’s the point of muzzleloader season if you get to use a scope
@MoveOutdoors6 ай бұрын
You’d have to ask the Iowa DNR that question. All of my previous muzzleloader hunting had been with a flintlock. Unfortunately I need a new flint or I would’ve taken that out for the walk

John should stop crying. Make better decisions the warden cut him breaks where he could. In retrospect he should have hammered him, since he is crying all the same 🤷♂️
@MarkRambo17 ай бұрын
The Warden had a job to do, even though he personally agreed with you guys about what the morally/ethically correct course of action was. Also sounds like he cut “John” multiple breaks (not citing for poaching, not citing for trespass for parking in the neighbors yard, only confiscating the bolt used instead of the crossbow so he could still hunt the rest of the season, etc.) That alone should earn that Warden some respect from “John,” and it sounds like the situation would’ve been completely different if “John” would’ve just dragged the deer out instead of parking on property that wasn’t his 🤷♂️ If he wants to be mad at anybody over this situation, or should be himself and his poor decision making, not the PGC or the game warden. Dude decided to go doe hunting in the rain with a bow, then escalated a conflict with his neighbor, then escalated the situation with the state police. I’ve heard of some people getting pinched for dispatching an animal with a firearm in archery season or for dispatching a trailed animal outside of legal shooting hours.
@MoveOutdoors7 ай бұрын
We agree, the warden had a job to do that he didn’t seemed thrilled about, but had to do something. We also agree “John” got cut a few breaks and things absolutely could’ve been worse, and above all that basically all of this could’ve been avoided if he would’ve simply drug the deer back to his property instead of deciding to get his truck and drag it off the public and up through his neighbors yard.
@jas_mose7 ай бұрын
He should just plead not guilty and challenge it in court. Game warden will probably not show and he’ll get off.

Great video and great persistence, you made it happen! 96yds is unequivocally an unethical shot on an elk! As you learned on your 7 yarder, a lot can go wrong. No right range for all, but I and many guys that can shoot a hand sized group with broadheads (key) at 100yds would never shoot anything close to that. Just too much you can’t control. Lessons learned, fortunately not the super hard way (lost animal)
