Hello dr spinach , i have a question if you could answer . So i did my undergrad in Karnataka, got my license there and got noc and changed my license to tamilnadu . But then i got a job in Bangalore and shifted there , i worked in Bangalore with my old registration thinking it would be valid as it says its a permanent registration. But when i recently applied for good standing from Karnataka council , it says that the registration is permanent, bur the license wasn't valid any longer. ( License was only valid until i got noc to tamilnadu) . Now my question is , can i show this for applying jobs ? Or for registration? Will it be a problem?

If you were allowed to work according to the rules of Kerala's medical council, it wont be a problem. But if you worked against the rules, that would become a problem. Generally in most states in India, you can hold registration of 2 states at one time. NOC is obtained from the state you were initially registered. NOC doesnt mean your license to practice is no more valid. It just implies that your initial medical council has no problem with you getting registered with a second medical council.

@@dr__spinach thank you for the reply doctor. However I did ask both the councils , they weren't entirely sure if I can work in Karnataka even after getting a NOC. I didn't get a straightforward answer to my query from them . However, they mentioned to me that I can "activate" my old registration by getting noc again from the tamilnadu and re-register , so that the work that I already did in Karnataka can be considered valid . Idk how much this idea is gonna work out though, if you're interested I can write you for a follow up doc ! Let me know .

You can apply for higher posts with your experience. You need not take the exams compulsorily

I did not need it for taking plab exam. For gmc registration, they did not ask me for this last year. They instead asked me to get my degree translated by their translator services. I am not aware if the rules would have been changed.

Hi dr spinach. I have been terminated from a job (that is from coal India’s hospital which is psu)in my carrier coz I left for doing md criteria for study leave was difficult to meet and notice period was long so I left joined md and got terminated from theirs. Now m worried should I mention that job in my clinical experience or show it as a gap .

If you had a registration in the state you were working its alright to show it. Additionally, the verification is usually asked by the job providers from clinical settings. Hope this helps :)
