Hi, Dr. Christi! Your video has just popped up in my video feed, and I'm so delighted to e-meet you! As I'm so passionate about American English and try to improve my English communication skills, I'll be sure to binde-watch your prior videos to play catch-up on them. Where has your KZbin channel been all this time? So glad I've found your channel, to which I've just become a subscriber so I won't miss out on any new videos as they come out. Please keep it up, and I hope you have a fabulous weekend! Greetings from an overcast and fairly warm São Paulo, Brazil! Bye.

THANKS for your videoss
@ADASTRASPEECH
@ADASTRASPEECH 13 күн бұрын
Hi, so it's the combination of /r/ with other consonants? Like "br" in "breakfast" and "brown"? I can add some words like that to today's Intonation Meetup so I can describe them for you. 😁 Look for the video made on June 12, 2024.

That's really helpful! These are great tips for sounding more natural. Intonation and pronunciation are of paramount importance. That's for sure. I want to ask you a question about a movie called SPECTRAL (2016) that I recently saw and really interested me. One of the soldiers in the movie SPECTRAL (2016), at timestamp 32:17, says, "When's his wife due?" The question here is that "When's" + "his" is pronounced like "When this wife due?" I checked dictionaries for the pattern "when + is + subject," but in the movie, you can clearly hear a "d" sound. Why is that? The question isn't "When does his wife due?" So, where did the "d" sound come from? ... Well, that's all! Thanks again!
