My build casts; barrier, frost step (chilled status), barrier boosted firemine/winters ruin (1000 bonus damage to chilled), barrier boosted immolate(detonates frozen enemies), decloaking blast fade cloak plus 3x spirit blades. Repeat and skip barrier if you don't need it, and winter's ruin/firemine if they are on cooldown or you don't have enough mana. Frost step, upgraded immolate and fadestep all have 12s cooldowns so you should be able to do a near continuos cycle of frost step, immolate, fade cloak, 3x spirit blade with clean burn as they all cost 35 mana or less. Firemine/winters ruin/barrier will take two or 3 cycles to cooldown and winters ruin/barrier cost 65/50 mana respectively so you won't be able to cast them often unless your lucky with flashpoint. If you're using focus abilities too you can throw in a fully upgraded antivan fire to stun mobs then detonate them with immolate to do massive spirit damage and weaken them as well as generate more focus because it's a "cross-class combo." 🔥 💥 😈

I still wonder why they decided to make bow skills so much slower on PC. This looks good, meanwhile pc bow is autoattack simulator most of the time because even Arrow of Slaying sometimes is a DPS down.

I remember the difficulty spike at 36:45 from my first play. I had a melee character and that dude would roast my whole group with fireballs. So I did the logical thing and switched to a mage character :D Later, with more experience I did the same as you. Sneak in with stealth, then pinning shot. Took some trial and error, but can we done and works well.

Since Magic takes the place of Strength, does that mean it also counts towards the accuracy of Melee attacks? 🤔 I understand it doesn't boost physical resistance, but the accuracy part is very important since you don't need Dexterity.

Great video as always! Keep them builds coming. I remember I found your channel during my last DA:O walkthrough in 2020. Recently I started playing BG3 and immediately thought that you probably love the game as well as it feels more of a sequel to DA:O than DA2 and 3 imo ;p Cheers Bro, keep this channel alive!

Fine. I do have opinions on the chest, gloves and boots for the build. Actually, a pair of gloves will give you +1 to Spell DC and attack rolls, making our DC 23 (without the Threatened condition). Left entry = my good playthrough armor, right entry = my evil playthrough armor Chest: Armor of Resistance / Plate Armor +2 Gloves: Legacy of the Masters / Helldusk Gloves (+1 to spell DC and attack rolls) Boots: Boots of Persistence / Boots of Striding Hail the Storm Lord!

Ya poor Bao-Dur, he really does get shafted when it comes to ways to build him effectively. So many other good companions I never felt the need to take him. I may try to build him as an unarmed character next time I play... which will probably be soon.. Who needs new games when I can keep playing Dragon age and kotor over and over again.

Really good video. Levelling Atton to level 12 is a great strat since defense is really important especially for characters/class with low hp pools. Cutting him off early at level 9 also isn’t a bad idea for an alternative strategy since he still gets another level of sneak attack and some extra force powers which is always good. Atton isn’t at all a strong dedicated force user. Because of his low base wisdom and low force point pool enemies are likely to succeed against his powers with saving throws. But even with that in consideration some Force powers are stupid busted in kotor regardless if saving throws are made(force storm go brrr). If you’re going for a melee/lightsaber build for Atton I’d go for the lv. 12 strat so he gets a stronger sneak attack and scoundrel’s luck to boost his offense(other party members can use valor and stun enemies), and lv. 9 for a ranged build so Atton can better spam force powers for his teammates. Your tips for allocating his attributes are fantastic. Couldn’t have said it better myself. Putting points into wisdom may seem bad on a surface level because even at 16 wisdom Atton doesn’t even break 200 force points as seen in 5:29 but it really helps with helping Atton fight against enemies saving throws. Getting a successful stasis or insanity is vital for maximizing his damage output. The other strat of continuously buffing his con is definitely better than you made it out to be, some of the 18 con implants are insanely good but your suggestion in the video to build a median between the two is better and more well rounded. If you’re planning on making more kotor videos I’d love to watch them. It’s obvious you’re extremely knowledgeable about this game. Also it’s super nostalgic seeing the xbox version of the game again. Been years since I’ve played it. I put in half a dozen playthroughs into this version if the game before getting a pc as a teenager. The UI in this version is GOATED. Which version do you prefer using?

Hey, I appreciate the feedback, Bruv. Glad to hear that my suggestions on the build are well-received! I am planning on making more Kotor videos. This game was a staple of my teen years and I still can’t let the game go without playing it at least once per year. The nostalgia gets me every time. I’ve only been able to play on the Xbox, so I guess I’d have to answer that way. I know I miss out on the restored content mod but it is what it is! Much love, Rob

I know... you uploaded it 3 years ago, but thank you! I really want to use Morrigan's shapeshifting and I built something similar to your mage, but on Morrigan. It works really well. A lot of websites talking that shapeshifting is completely useless for the Warden, and Morrigan too. They were wrong! I just found your video, so I don't know, but do you have videos about DAO companions builds somewhere here or not? Or maybe... could you make it? :)
