Great panist Werner Haas who was home at Romantic. But it's also not forgottten his sense of Jazz, especially Gershwin and his great sense of impressionism like Debussy. He was on a path like Walter Gieseking.

Fun Fact: Hans Zimmer has been accused of copying Michael Nyman's work, but few know Nyman gave classes to Zimmer during his young adulthood, hence this explains why sometimes Hans Zimmer's compositions resemble those of Nyman's

J'ai appris les 4 Ballades de Chopin avec cet enregistrement de François René Duchable qui de l'avis de beaucoup et du mien aussi surclasse d'autres grands pianistes comme Pollini, Zimerman.....malgré leurs qualités indéniables Mais Duchable a ce quelque chose supplémentaire qui se rapproche le.plus possible de l'âme de Chopin. Immense pianiste et artiste, merci François René Duchable pour cette sublime version qui a bercé mon adolescence et quarante ans plus tard continue de me transporter dans le cœur de Chopin

Présentiment, Mort, Marche Funèbre… le troisième mouvement a été détruit par le compositeur. Je me demande si des esquisses de ce troisième mouvement ont survécu, quelque part parmi les papiers de Janacek. 🤔

The last piece is the Mephisto Waltz. It’s listed here as Liebestraume No 2. One of the best interpretations of this piece btw. And with Wild’s ending.

Cet artiste révèle ici sa virtuosité, sa délicatesse, la limpidité de son jeu d'une rare qualité. Décédé, beaucoup trop jeune, dans un accident de la route au Canada, il n'a laissé que peu d'enregistrements. C'est fort dommage car j'ai le souvenir de son interprétation du 3ème Concerto de Beethoven, (devenu introuvable) où avec sobriété, talent, il nous communiquait son émotion au service de cette œuvre relativement peu jouée.

Il y a un truc que je ne comprends pas, y aurait-il 2 claviers bien tempéré II, parce que pour moi la partition du livre II que j'ai concerne les préludes et fugues de BWV 870 à BWV 893 et là ce que joue Blandine Verley va de BWV 858 à BWV 869, ce que joue l'interprète est plutôt la seconde partie du 1er livre soit le prélude et fugue 13 en Fa# majeur et ainsi de suite, donc en tout cas pas le second livre du clavier bien tempéré, il y a donc bien une petite confusion dans le titre...

Ruth you are not just a great pianist but a great artist. I know how hard you had to work to play these great pieces like you did ,every note,rarely have i heard such clear and clean playing on these pieces ...and with all the emotion theses pieces need....hofman and Rachmaninoff would have been proud ...of you.

No, a previous poster was correct. This is the op.22. NOT the op.16. Plus the intonation is terrible (not uncommon for the Pascal Quartet).
