I'm not even going to listen to the rest of this because Darryl is handling this completely against the example and words of Jesus. I have emailed you and you don't even respond. That's NOT care!!!!
@Seeing-n2sАй бұрын
There is so much wrong with what you are saying, Darryl. What is so frustrating is there is no opportunity to have these kinds of conversations with workers when, for conscience sake, you HAVE to disagree with them.
@Seeing-n2sАй бұрын
No Darryl. You don't hear from those people so much not because they've moved on, you don't hear from them because NONE OF YOU WILL LISTEN AND FOLLOW THE WORDS OF JESUS ABOUT WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT!! You talk too much and listen too little. People have learned that it's pointless to try to get the workers to do anything about some seriously HUGE problems and it's not always about sexual abuse.
@Seeing-n2sАй бұрын
No Darrel! Jesus prioritized selling all and giving to the poor BEFORE he said to follow him. You are wrong.

WOW, that was so helpful . I was wondering how we can talk to the children about these abusers so this doesn't happen to them.

The verse about always having the poor among you (Matthew 26:11, Mark 14:7, John 12:8) is taken out of context. Jesus specifically said that they (his disciples) would not always have Him with them, because He knew He was going to die, resurrect and ascend to Heaven. He was particularly addressing Judas, who, in the John passage, is explained to have been in charge of the disciples’ money, who didn’t care for the poor and was a thief. Jesus is with true believers in spirit (Holy Spirit or “Comforter”), but in this passage He was speaking of His physical presence. He didn’t leave them because they had done anything wrong, but because He had to die for humanity’s sin. Please don’t take these passages out of context, and then use it to make an excuse to not care for the “poor” i.e. victims. God expects the poor/victims to be taken care of. Matthew 25:42-46 For I was hungry, and you didn’t feed me. I was thirsty, and you didn’t give me a drink. I was a stranger, and you didn’t invite me into your home. I was naked, and you didn’t give me clothing. I was sick and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’ “Then they will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and not help you?’ “And he will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.’ “And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life.”

If children are taught CLEARLY what is friendly behavior and what is not friendly behavior; If they are taught to bring up immediately any behavior (including psychological pressure) that has made them uncomfortable no matter who it comes from; If this teaching is upheld, respected and expanded upon as they grow to adulthood there will be fewer silent victims whether children or adults. Jesus was startlingly blunt in his wording of some teachings. Maybe we all need a dose of that courage with our children along with the wisdom we feel so desperate for. This isn't an After-the Fact solution. Neither is it a single remedy. There are multiple issues here. Is this not too complex to address with implementation of a single set of guidelines? Perhaps the work of restoration could be broken down into areas that are more specific. What concerns each group of people could be more pertinent, direct and comprehensive. What children need to help them get past harmful experiences is different from what adults need to help them heal. What "perpetrators" need in therapy, education, situation etc. is bound to be broad enough to require the fervent effectual prayer of every brother or sister that knows them. Is it such that some helpers have fuller understanding for certain situations? Could they work more effectively with those who are in bondage because of wounds? Or those who caused wounds. Or those who are confused? The current situation isn't due to a single cause nor can it be healed by a single change. We can say "Prayer changes everything" and indeed it does. But our amazing God can see each situation and give guidance and support and work His miracles with every soul as it is needed. Same goes for those standing by who want to help. Our situation is not God's Waterloo. That same heart that desires truth in the inward parts also wants none to perish. None. We need a lot of miracles at present. Has human-kind ever not needed miracles? We have a God with His Son at His right hand who are capable of every one. Maybe we could each pray to be one of His miracles with His power.

I’m confused on Todd’s comments about the FBI not able to make a enterprise case, when if you go back and watch the Hulu doc the FBI agent literally says “I’m trying to build a enterprise case. “
@2x2incorporated5 ай бұрын
Furthermore, Todd is wrong that there has never been an enterprise case against a religious organization - the FBI did such cases against localized dioceses of the Roman Catholic Church. The FBI did such cases against NXIVM. There are many other examples.
@toddprice825 ай бұрын
So sorry for the confusion, the Omaha SAC interviewed did say they are looking globally, and stated that they are trying to bring the case from local to global and build the case on an enterprise basis. However, the investigative guidelines under which the FBI operates clearly defines the type of investigations that may be opened as an "Enterprise Investigation". Please see page 23 of the attached link to the USDOJ Domestic Investigations Operation Guide, which lists the investigations that qualify as Enterprise Investigations. www.justice.gov/archive/opa/docs/guidelines.pdf The violations currently being investigated in this case are most likely will not meet those requirements, which are; a pattern of racketeering activity, international terrorism, domestic terrorism, furthering political or social goals wholly or in-part through activities that involve force or violence..., or an offense described in 18 USC 2332b(g)(5)(B) or 18 USC 43. I hope this adds clarity, please contact AFTT and ask for my email address, if you would like further information.

Dear 2x2incorp, could you reference any information you have about the FBI working a criminal Enterprise Investigation against the Diocese. I am aware that numerous US Attorney offices attempted to bring a civil RICO case that has not been successful. This is not the same as an FBI Enterprise Investigation. I absolutely could be wrong about the Diocese and am happy to be corrected. Thank you so much.

I'm confused, I always thought that Jesus was the shepherd. So you're saying that the workers are the shepherds and not Jesus?
@js94306 ай бұрын
So when they say that they are going to make guidelines based on scriptures, I wonder if they will use Genesis 19. If I understand the "moral" of those stories, one is that it is better to SA women than it is to SA men. Also, it's ok for daughters to get their father drunk and SA him, due to a lack of options. Are those the scriptures they intend to use to inform their guidelines?

You shared the verse about giving to the poor and then following Jesus. Very true, but I do not think that Jesus intends us to help the poor or sexually abused victims once and turn our backs on them
@Seeing-n2sАй бұрын
Absolutely. But that's the best anyone can expect. If that.

To the same man who I mentioned earlier that was speaking in the 30 minutes plus he thinks that we would be causing a perpetrator to be a victim if we keep them out of the meetings. I am so frustrated by this lack of support for the true victims. Perpetrators make choices. The victims have never made that choice!

If you do go about building spiritual policy guidelines, I am wondering which Bible verse would support "report, report, report and contact local authorities"?
@mskrislewis7 ай бұрын
Your thoughts about the policy guidelines not being family-oriented... is child sexual abuse family oriented? No, so the answer to child sexual abuse is not a family-oriented policy.
@js94306 ай бұрын
I agree. Also, there are similarities between corporations and the family structure that The Truth condones. The husband is "supposed" to be to be the head of the household (aka CEO/president) and the wife and children are "supposed" to obey him (aka dutiful employees). Families have rules too and if those rules are broken, there are consequences.
@anniemcdonald66165 ай бұрын
Is it family oriented? Does it count if it happens within the family? The ONLY policy that is viable, that prevents both SA and CSA is to report to legal local authorities first and foremost. Make it clear that any sort of cover-up within the fellowship will be punished.

@@anniemcdonald6616 When the foundation breaks down the whole building will fall - we live by the Spirit and the word of God - they can't be separated. If a crime is committed it has to be dealt with by the Law of Man - we can pray for the perpetrator and leave it in God's hands.

The man from the Netherlands who is married to the Canadian lady shared some excellent thoughts. I agree with his assessment in Hollanders respecting the workers but recognizing their humanity. That is more common in the U.S. than many realize, hence the lack of concern many U.S. members seem to show about CSA or SA. People are reluctant to place blame on their parents or grandparents beliefs or culture that was instilled in them. Even before the exposure of misdeeds of the one U.S. big headworker over a yr ago. More skeptical of and not “idolizing” humans because they were “ 2:13:33 workers”? That issue seems to be more dependent on familial teachings in the U.S. and has spurred the “exclusivity” heresy that seems to have grown over time and created the fear that has traumatized some victims. That was my takeaway from this helpful discussion.
