Okay, this person knew Second Officer Lightoller, so he's a crewman. Who is he? Lots of sailors survived. Even the stokers in the deepest part of the ship, who were able to exit after the boiler room blew up.

It was specifically designed as a naval bomber the bombs were carried internally the pointed tail was in two halves which opened out to act as airbrakes. I believe the bomb bay door was rotated to the inside when about to bomb. originally designed and built by Blackburn (aircraft company?)

From this brief video clip, I see several things that it reveals. This appears to be a naval aircraft designed to be flown from and recovered by an aircraft carrier; it has folding wings they were equipped with to save space that was very limited on flight decks and hangar decks, and it appears to have a retractable tail hook for recovery aboard a carrier flight deck by engaging or snagging the arresting cable stretched across it, one of usually 3 such cables. This is information that would be helpful to those unfamiliar with the history of such aircraft if it were to have a narration.

@@andyp5899 Thanks for the illuminating reply. I'm the son of a USN aviator who flew seaplanes and helicopters, so I've had a lifelong interest in aviation.

@@williambarck5958 My memory of it was as a kid building the model. Being British I was fascinated by British aircraft of the time. The one thing that upset me was the cancelling of the TSR2, perhaps one of the most advanced aircraft of its time. If you consider when it was built and the level of technology then, its ability to follow the terrain was unprecedented among its other features. I believe lessons learned were used to develop Concorde.
