I used to go for open air meetings on every Sunday evening in non Christian areas in our village in India. Exiting Sunday school in the morning......now no such activities.....

I was so privileged to have been present when Nat sang this song so beautifully. At the end, there was no applause, just complete silence, you know what I mean - the Spirit moving. 🙏

It might be worth remembering that these guys (although they can play as as band etc) are professional soldiers and should not be interfered with.

Well..not really actually..I did that job for 15 years, we did a week a year on the weapon ranges and mucked about a bit picking up logs..push came to shove as happened for me in the late 80s with the IRA playing up we could at least look like soldiers at a camp outpost.. Musicians 98% was the job.

@SiFiClark - thanks for your feedback. I figured that was the case regarding the musical focus after some basics. I played with the Salvos Melbourne Staff Band until recently and that was why I was particularly admiring the marching skills of the players. It’s not as easy as some may think to do it well without unduly compromising sound and technical execution.

@@StevensBruce well, that's the gig mate, hence the training to do it.. It had zero impact on my playing quality by the time I got to my band post juniors and Kneller Hall.. The old Blues and Royals and Life Guards bands on horseback...they defo lost quality of sound somewhat.. Mind you I did a few displays on cow fields which involved splitting the diff between looking for holes approaching and reading the dots..🤔

Unfortunately we haven't been able to find an official copy of the team list. From the video I can make out the following numbers for the Saints (Salvos). Sorry if I misspelled your name. 1 Chris Philpot 4 Nigel Jenkins 5 Sam Fisk 13 John Philpot 18 Bruce Stevens 21 Andrew Philpot 23 Dion Frewin 24 Jarrod Clarke 31 Lindsay Stow 34 Jade Frewin (ripped number) 35 Richard Ziegeler 44 Leon Stow 49 Rick Frewin 50 Marcus Clarke Darrell Pedler is one of the goal umpires Apologies I don't know many of the Baptist players, although I think I can see Ben Ward and Malcolm Ward 10 Daryl Davey
