The most Jared could get would be $20,400 if he doubled up and the most Hannah could get would be $22,400 if she doubled up but neither total would have been enough.

Because when you're suddenly thrust upon millions of people, it can be hard to remember how to smile. Yes, Joon is deliberately smiling when he has to. But it's only because he doesn't know what yer problem is with someone not smiling all the @#$% time.

Andrea's day on Jeopardy! was on 7/5/88, when she lost her game to Kevin Frear, who in that game set the then one day winnings record of $27800. Andrea was a contestant on Now You See It in SUmmer 1989, when she mentioned writing for Games and Games Junior magazines.

Tom's highest possible score if he had gotten FJ correct would have been $48 000, still short of Roger's day 1 total.
@Gussi-9212 жыл бұрын
Wrong, he still would have had over 45000 total, which is much more than the 18800 of Tom, so stop saying he would not have won, dammit!

The good players always start DJ fishing for the DD's. This is most apparent if you watch the games with Watson where the computer is programmed to keep seeking the DD's but interestingly only to take them out of contention as it never bets much (the risk being much higher than answering a random question where it has a benchmark guiding it whether to attempt an answer)

It has to do with Tournament of Champions rules. 5 quarterfinal games. 15 players. The 5 winners advance to the semifinals *along with the 4 non-winners with the highest scores*. Tom knew $16,400 gave him a very good shot at a wildcard spot. He didn't want to risk that to go for an outright win. The real genius was in that $3 bet. It kept him just ahead of Jay in the rankings when Jay had bet to get just ahead of Tom's pre-FJ total. But if Tom had missed FJ, he'd still have a good wildcard shot.
