The verse you are quoting says the prophet is the BEST in behavior, NOT the perfect or infallible. Among all human beings, He is the best, NOT perfect. That is why Allah does not send us angels. Sheikh, what about surat Kahf, where Allah corrected the prophet to say insha-Allah? Do you have another story behind that too? What about other prophets that came earlier, do they also commit mistakes and seek for forgiveness? or only our Prophet is the "Perfect" . Remember the famous prayer of Prophet Adam after eating the fruit?
