A few years ago me and my two sons and 4 nephews were one of those groups of generational fans. I raised my boys in Metallica and it was a dream come true to see them live together in 2018! I’ve been a Metallica fan since about 1984 and seeing them with my kids and nephews was the best mom/aunt moment of my life so far!

0:44 Hardwired greater than DM?? with last minute solos due to the ancient lost Kirk's iphone than DM? I guess the interviewer is st. anger fan. And I think turning down James's mic comparing to the interviewer volume is somewhat disrespectful. It should be at least even or the opposite

Its funny how , when some new guy interviews you , you have to act like you’ve been friends for some time and you really know the guy , it’s so phoney ha ha ha how’s the wife ? Didn’t you know we got divorced or how’s the new car you bought , didn’t you know my license is suspended or how’s the new home didn’t you know the wife took it with her lawyer it’s like that all the time when some one interviews James they act like there buddy buddy but no one knows what James Hatfield is like or his personal life and that is what makes James James he only knows , and I think it’s better that way as we all need our space :)

Hahahahaha. Well that was kind of a dickhead thing to say by meltdown. He was like "you've done a lot of things you don't recommend in your life" and James is like fuck you, thank you for pointing that out dickfuck

So is James talking about the summer Sanitarium tour of 2000? The "waterskiing" accident? He actually crashed a motorbike into Kid Rocks house? That's far more impressive, but I'm guessing they had to put "waterskiing" on the insurance form.

whatever happened to Band interviews? Now they just get 1 guy from the band and interview them it seems. In the 80s & 90s it wasnt about 1 person from a band, it was about the band.
@danny3553 жыл бұрын
I think as you get older you get sick of sitting there listening to the other guys waffle on. It's really hard to keep the dynamic happy. Lars will waffle on endlessly. Kirk wont get to say much. Rob will just be sitting through the whole thing with the occasional direct question asked to him. Doing that for 2 hours every day is not fun. Also, seperately gives you 4x as many interviews and 4x as much coverage. If the band members are interesting enough, it makes sense to do it that way. Metallica is one of those bands that were interviewed seperately even from the early days. After about 1985 onwards. Lars has a LOT to say about, well....Everything.

They're often not in the same city at the same time. When you're a young band you do everything together and sometimes even live together - when you're in your 50s and have been doing this since you were 19, you tend to have your own family and agendas. There's plenty of interviews of them all together, but if they're separate then most likely they're off doing their own thing.

I WAS THERE AT ORION! I remember that moment. Me, my dad, and my brother were watching the Drop Kick Murphies when we see people start running across the field to another stage. Then our dad tells us Metallica was playing and we're all like "What? They don't play today. That's supposed to be Dehaan." But we walked over and sure enough Metallica is playing! That was my first time ever seeing them live. And then they got into a battle with the neighboring band who turned their amps up, then Metallica turned there's up, and it kept going. It was fucking awesome! I was 12 years old at the time of Orion fest, and that weekend is still the best days of my life. :) Great interview, great band. Love these guys.
