most subcultures came about as a response to social issues and in this day and age it seems that subculture has become a marketing tool and so the ultimate form of rebellion would be to reject it all together. shops like h and m literally sell sex pistols tees and it's no longer odd for a man to grow out his hair or for kids to die their hair bright colors. we are way past that point when it comes to the superficial stuff like fashion. but the soul of it all, the rebellion, lives on and it's more than just clothes and music. Obviously social movements can directly influence these things but yeah, i think we are way past that point. We don't need another beat generation or another goth movement or whatever.

I started with one on my forearm, unsure if I was ever going to get more. Slowly worked up the arm w individual ideas and having them placed nicely next to the previous one. By the end i’ll have like 6 or 7 full pieces fitting together on my right arm in one cohesive black flowy style. Rly glad I didn’t get impulsive tattoos w my friends in my early 20s bc I’m very happy with what I have now at 29.

I find it funny that you are discovering this now, 20+ years after the fact. Consider, do people even look at your tattoos anymore? I don't mean people you know who feel obligated to check out your latest mistake. I mean people you see and meet in everyday life. Don't the majority of them simply look you in the face and ignore the tats? They do this on purpose, so as not to make a face and give themselves away that they don't like it. And are you really surprised that "norms" don't want to hire you? You got these tattoos so you could be different, so you could stand out, separate yourself from the norms. It worked, yet now you find you need the norms to hire you, and they don't want to.

I've had my microbladed brows for five years. It's a greying brown, but i moved to a new state and getting someone to do them again..... 😬😬😬 I only have half eyebrows, I use to pull at them with stress and anxiety and they stopped growing. I spend hours everyday drawing on eyebrows and I just can't but having half eyebrows looks ridiculous.

I never thought there must be a bunch of ppl like me who suddenly got into tattoos in 2020. My biggest hobby before covid was going to the movie theater, during lockdown I picked up several new interests, tattoos being one of them.

I got 4 tattoos when I was 18-19 ...I'm 39 now and never got anymore since. I don't really care about mine one way or the other tbh but I find it weird when people turn having tattoos into their whole identity
