Great video. Was there and did the 50k. First ultra and was so jealous of those still going on the 100k. Really great to have POV video of the terrain and aid stations for next year. What camera are you using and software to overlay garmin telemetry
@Runningvideosig3 ай бұрын
Congrats on the 50k! The camera is called a Go3 by Insta360. Really simple to use and lightweight

Well done, mate. Insane heart rate given the distance and terrain. I did uta22, uta50 next year

That’s the way. Build slowly, get the mileage in and stave off injuries. The 22 looked like a lot of fun!

Great race. May I ask what camera you used to shoot it?

Cheers. The camera is the Go3 from insta360. I was able to just clip it onto my hat.

It’s a simple Garmin telemetry plugin. If you google it you should find various instructions

Great run. I did the same race considerably slower and really loved seeing what the race looks like at the front of the pack. I was particularly interested in your nutrition strategy which appeared somewhat random. I am sure there is more thought behind it than that. Again - well done on a great race and result.

Just saw your response to an earlier comment. Cramping in the middle of the race would have freaked me out.
@Runningvideosig4 ай бұрын
It was just slight twinging - not full on cramping so wanted to deal with it earlier. Nutrition strategy was what I’d call “laid back” with a rough plan of a couple of gels every 60/90 minutes. I’m not a fussy eater either :)

Great run! Interested on your nutrition? Mostly just water in the front flasks and super speedy checkpoints which is something I need to work on

Good question. I just used the aid stations (no drop bags). Had never tried naak before but it did the trick. My strategy was generally 2 gels between each aid station along with the litre of water in my flasks. I sweat alot too and also had 1-2 salt sticks every hour or so. Had some crampfix which was useful as was cramping a bit going over the styles along the 6ft section. Had some electrolyte drink at a later aid station (regretted it - water far more refreshing ) and coke towards the end and that was it.

I was going to ask the same question - you're putting so little into the machine, and keeping the pace going! Even just 2 gels between stations sounds incredibly low calorie intake. Fair play to you - excellent race, and thanks so much for sharing 👍

What wizardry allows you to show the pace/time/vert stats on the screen?
@Runningvideosig4 ай бұрын
It’s Garmin telemetry. It’s synchs (more or less) to your video

Excellent run mate. Its so awesome to see what it’s like up the front of the pack, and most of the course in daylight 😅
