I enjoy you guys. You are the Siskel and Ebert of this generation. But I don’t like hearing from you lot and several reviewers that the movie is too long a little over two hours. Where has our attention span gone a book takes 10, 15 or 20 hours to read we can’t sit for two hours and 10 minutes? I was never bored during this movie and stop being stressed out about the length of the movie and let the director go. But two hours and change isn’t that bad three hours is one thing. Maybe I’m wrong but for the money I wanna get more than 90 minutes. What is the ideal length of a movie?
@hollywood_impactСағат бұрын
I’m glad you enjoy our content, especially since most of our cast is very new to this sort of thing. As far as the length of movies go, the average is 2 hours, but the length of the movie should be based on the quality of its story and its pace through sequences. Some of us personally love longer films, but when we mean that it drags on, it’s just in the sense that we feel that that you could overinflate something. Like writing an essay, for example, sometimes simplifying your thoughts and points can be more effective. And I totally agree, most audiences’ attention spans have plummeted (which is sad). So the point is the movie could be shorter in service of how this generation is.

I was super disappointed in this movie. I was surprised that Ridley Scott wanted a second one to be made in the first place. I feel like the first film ended exactly where it needed to. Everyone’s story pretty much wrapped up, aside from maybe a couple side characters that completely drove the “story” for this movie.

Gladiator 2 insulted our intelligence when the sharks and boat scene started. 1. The logistics alone to transport all those sharks is crazy. 2. Do they even have cages to trap sharks back in the day? 3. The amount of water volume required to fill that coliseum is insane. 4. How the hell are they gonna transfer that amount of salt water from the ocean to the coliseum. 5. Also they don't have pumps to transfer the water into coliseum, so what gravity fed?

I saw the entire show... I don't think it's as bad as The marvels or she hulk, but I think it's on the levels of MOM or Black Widow. Not the worst, but not good either. I personally felt like it had no story, it felt extremely boring, the dialogue felt cringe, and it felt like a chore to watch. Ballad of the Witches Road, it was catchy at first, but I started getting sick of it because episode after episode, it was getting annoying because of how repetitive it felt. Just my opinion

I agree with you guys that they need to focus more on characters that will be important to the core Avengers films. They’re trying to jumpstart too many stories at one time, with too many characters, but movies can’t operate exactly like comic books. For this universe, they’ve been successful with grounding a handful of projects that are continually affecting each other.
@hollywood_impactАй бұрын
We agree with this. Some of the characters getting spotlights are very neat, but there’s a handful of characters who just have been swept aside.
@stephendaniels2213Ай бұрын
I disagree, they need to focus on telling good stories, and telling them well. The characters should be important because of their own story, not because it fits into some big master plan. THAT is what caused the whole issue with the MCU flops. "We don't need to make this show any good so long as we introduce Captain WibblyWoibble"
@ChrisBlack-jb4jvАй бұрын
@@stephendaniels2213That makes sense, and I don’t necessarily disagree. I think you can do both. I think you can focus on a handful of good characters (just like the early MCU), fit them all into a cohesive big plan (just like the early MCU), and tell those stories well when it’s focused on those main characters that we can grow with and care for (just like the early MCU). I think what’s caused it all to flop is a mix of expectations and a lack of cohesive focus. So, yeah, I don’t disagree with you, I just think it’s possible to do both. And it’s hard to go from a big planned Infinity Saga, to making small stories that are interesting on their own without a larger player looming over like Thanos. Kang was supposed to fill that role and now it’s Dr. Doom. 😬
@willhaigwood9691Ай бұрын

@hollywood_impactАй бұрын
I think this is a fair argument, but most of our scores we’ve given for films this year have been positive. There’s been a bit of a string of lesser content since August, and we think Agatha was a 7/10 (which is positive), it just cements another Marvel product that isn’t up to the gold standard they’ve set. Just our opinion.
@josefig842Ай бұрын
Ehh, you said you wanted them to explore characters that are going to be important…..enter Wiccan? Lol Also, if you want more cap the movie comes out in a few months. I really liked Agatha because it gave us a whole new corner of the MCU. It felt very distinct yet still part of the universe. I like marvel making projects that are out of the box and unique, keeps it fun.
@hollywood_impactАй бұрын
We don’t know how important Wiccan will be at the moment, but it was just strange that we haven’t seen more focus on characters that have already been established. Similar to spreading your eggs too thinly between baskets, we’re starting to get a cannon full of new characters that are very loosely or nearly unrelated to each other with no follow-ups. Glad you liked the show though. It is very distinct, and it shares that similar eerie tone of Wandavision. And Brave New World looks very cool!
@josefig842Ай бұрын
@ Wiccan is the most popular young avenger, and the MCU has spent the last 3 years laying the ground work for that team. And he’s also important to the children’s crusade storyline where Wanda will eventually make her return, and he’s been the sorcerer supreme. Wiccan will def be a main player in the MCU. The show also introduced Death and Jennifer Kale, who both will most likely be in other projects like Deadpool, Ghost rider or Midnight suns. I agree the MCU needs to revisit some of the characters it’s established like Shang Chi, I don’t think that takes anything away from Agatha All Along though. The next two movies they’re releasing do seem to be spotlighting a lot of the characters introduced in the last 2-3 years.
@hollywood_impactАй бұрын
And we’re excited for it! One of the most frustrating aspects is that Eternals hasn’t been followed up. That one was certainly mixed on reception, but the celestial aspect is such an important one. I do love that Agatha teases the return of the Scarlet Witch, because she certainly has been such an impactful character. We enjoy these discussions, so thank you!

After watching that juvenile slop called 'DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE', 'MEGALOPOLIS' is an artistic revelation. Coppola catered to this vision for the last 25 years plus and it showed. It was bold, audacious and in some parts psychedelic. Yes, it was a long in certain sections but the overall creative arc was outstanding. Yes, it's not for the masses because sublimely it touches upon The Tower of Babel, Greed, Lust, Anarchy, Power and The Architecture of the Mind,...so believe me, not everyone is going to get into this movie. However, what Coppola and that cast and crew conveyed was that art, commerce, culture and creativity can be used to hopefully uplift and elevate the human mind and thinking and by creating and financing 'MEGALOPOIS' on his own, FRANCIS FORD COPPOLA has certainly done that. - James D. Watkins, artistic director of PHOENIX PRODUCTIONS.
