As for Inart I'm still in because they have and are doing characters I want particularly Lord Of The Rings. The BVS Superman looks absolutely stunning so their quality in sculpt and paint work is something I like about them and that may push Hot Toys harder. I would be curious as a question for Inart if they'll do reissues like I missed Gandalf so I'd appreciate a reissue. Thanks for the chat from Ireland 🇮🇪.

Crazy Toys. They made one of harley quinn suicide squad. Also, I had someone on Instagram who wanted me to buy a figure using only cashapp. That was automatically block.

I've seen a medicom rah joker in a hot toys joker box on ebay years ago. They tried to justify it as real by the hot toys print on the bottom foot but the foot was hot toys and not the figure.

Just getting caught up. 😅 I feel Hot Toys has deviated from the path in terms of what “Artisan” means. With inconsistency in terms of quality given to each figure, for example, Jack Sparrow has genuine leather but Anakin doesn’t. Which as you’ve said, the only thing that looks different in that figure is the portrait. So what is “Artisan”? At this point it feels really subjective due to, as I said, the inconsistency shown from each announcement. And I agree DX is pretty much irrelevant at this point. If they aren’t going to use the best of the best in terms of material for these figures, then stop calling them “Artisan” all together.

I bought a knock off Groot on purpose. I know… I know… but it was $40 bucks and the after market of the real one was around $300 or more. I’m ok with it.

I’m glad we have third party companies. Otherwise we wouldn’t have any Last of Us figures, no FF7 figures etc.

Early in my collecting journey I bought a few knock off's, but they were figures that were no longer in production and way too expensive in the aftermarket. Today, I do not buy knock offs since I can pre-order the figures I really want, if I miss out then I miss out. There's always another figure coming that will make up for it.

Personally, I don’t mind KOs of figures that are already sold out in stores. Of course it still doesn’t make the practice okay, but It would hurt hoarders and overpriced resellers more rather than the licensee, their artists, as well as retailers. Another thing- at least most Hot Toys Knock Offs sell their products as knock offs now, ie cheaper price, in different packaging and even branding. I remember more than 10 years ago when they tried to fool collectors to get their products for the same price as the real thing (even the boxes are 1:1 copies), so some collectors groups online had to make pinned posts of what to look for to check if the figure sold to them are fakes. I think the Wolverine figure from the Wolverine X-men Origins movie was one of the earliest fakes that plagued the community then.

Love the video! Thankfully I haven’t run across fake hot toys in my journey, maybe a PSA about knowing if a listing is fake would be very helpful. I see too many people being scammed on Mercari, eBay, and Amazon when buying hot toys which is just to name a few. I won’t even touch Facebook markets anymore just to be safe

Well I want to get a knock off hot Toys Avengers Hulk 1/6 scale figure but really just to add to my marvel comics line, not sure if Hono will even get around to it and I wouldn't be using the head sculpt, I'll be sculpting the head myself I'm just using it for a custom job.

Great video Keco! I know there are fake hot toys sculpts but have never seen full figures or even ones with boxes, so that is concerning. Great tips. I don't consider 3rd party figures to be knockoffs, especially for side characters that HT refuses to make. Some of them are getting pretty good, not quite HT levels but close. collects what makes you happy as long as you know what you are getting ahead of time. But I understand your opinion and respect it for the artists ❤

Yo Dawg You should do a video about how different the production figures have been from the prototypes. After seeing that 89 Batman, I am never gonna preorder again. This to me is worse than the wait time at InArt.

Seems a-lot of collectors buy knockoff brand figures to either save money and or buy a figure that hasn’t been released by Hot Toys. I personally prefer the quality of Hot Toys but some companies out there are stepping up such as Inart and Jazzinc. As long as they get a license to sell the figures i have no problem with it because i have heard some celebrities will refuse to sign / autograph fake / knockoff merchandise if they spot it.

I found out about Hot Toys from an ad on Facebook about a bootleg Mk 42! Didn’t buy the bootleg thankfully, but it led me down an expensive rabbit hole, lol

This kind of makes me wonder about the Saturn toys doc brown and Marty McFly 2015 figures I’ve seen floating around on pre-order. I couldn’t tell if they are fake or what on eBay.

If they made fake Star Ace they'd look better I just wish there were scammers out there willing to debase themselves by purchasing one to copy 😢 . As for Hot Toys there's a fake Harley out there by "Crazy Toys" for $40! From a distance looks pretty similar but when you compare the pics you can see easily, guaranteed though, if I sold my genuine one and replaced it with the fake literally ZERO people who have seen my collection would notice haha, although I personally would not be able to sleep ever again.

I don’t think you can say anything about original sculptors not getting paid because at the end of the day if sideshow wanted to sell more of whatever the fakes are selling, they could. They’re sitting on the product. They sold as much as they want and ain’t no harm in buying a KO or third party if HT won’t reissue. Or sell in your market.

Most who have shopped at Toys wonderland have been scammed, and they sell genuine products... Apparently....i never received my order, so im only speculating about the Genuineness of the products they sell 😆

Thanks KeCo for that information. FYI do not purchase anything from TOYS WONDERLAND WHO NOW CALLS THEMSELVES TOYS APOLLO. Same company same scammers, and this is a company that at first I had heard of them on one Justin,s Collection KZbin channel . I, ve been waiting 3 years still hasn't arrived and the INARTS ROBERT PATTERSON BATMAN. FINALLY I geard from them and they tell me they can't refund my money , but with give me store credit, which I still don't see it in my account. This company hasn't reached out to me since, and they hardly respond back. If anybody out there can help with some suggestions I highly appreciated.

I'm not going to lie, I have the fake Avengers Hulk. I couldn't justify the aftermarket cost of the original. I picked it up on ebay for about $50 some years back. I knew what it was though, so I did not get scammed or anything. I repainted it and it ended up looking pretty good. I get it isn't ethical, but sometimes they can serve a purpose if you need a background character for your display. All that being said, if they do indeed announce a Hulk 2.0, I will sell this thing for cheap and be all in on the Hot Toys version.

Yes, there are fake Hot Toys. It's whatever Sideshow makes 😂. But on a more serious note, browsing ebay, there are a lot of listings that are said to be Hot Toys but upon closer inspection they aren't. Mainly Iron Man figures and the odd headsculpt

Never been afraid of Hot Toys fakes for a lot of reasons. But I'm also a Neca collector, so unfortunately I'm all too familiar with those. It's a real minefield. But, I'm proud to say, with sweat, research and some headaches, I have managed to dodge those, and only have genuine pieces. I'm not gonna lie, though... that PlayToys Mark VI looks pretty damn good for a bootleg. Shockingly good, in fact.

There have been postings on eBay of fake Iron Man Mark 42s and Iron Patriots.

My bet for the upcoming Darkside Event is Dark Side Anakin, Savage Opress and Darth Malak. I think those are 3 safe choices, since people have been wanting/expecting a new DS Anakin for so long. Savage Opress because he is the missing piece to the scene where they fight Sidious and also not forget that they made a Cosbabi of him for the event so they atleast acknowledge his existence even Hasbro is doing him now after so many years, and Darth Malak because of how important he is to Revan's story and would therefore be a great companion piece.

I don’t think “ad hominem” attacks are productive in any discussion. Always attack the argument, not the person. For instance, referring to “the cult of Jazz or Inart” can easily backfire, as the other side might respond with, “Are you not in the Cult of HT?” Considering the level of criticism in livestreams from well-known KZbinrs-Danoby, Fabsfigures, Big Breda, Shehero, Geeking Out, to name a few-all of whom have purchased the HT Batmobile (with the first two clearly in the “cult of HT”), as well as the anonymous commenters filled with vitriol, one would expect far more cancellations than just 3 out of 2500 Batmobiles (a mere 0.12% cancellation rate). It seems most of the negativity came from non-buyers, and given their emotional reactions (they were not indifferent), it’s likely they are indeed HT Batmobile buyers. You know the saying, “Those who criticize the most want it the most,” or “The opposite of love is indifference, not hate.” Clearly, the “cult of HT” is stronger, as we don’t see the same negativity for HT’s weaker releases. By acknowledging the first two groups but not the latter, it gives the impression of a lack of self-reflection or at the least, taking sides and far from an “independent party”. Disclosure: I own more than 120 figures, pf which just 2 Inarts (yes, Gandalf is the best and most premium figure I have ever seen) The Batmobile 89 is my first JazzInc purchase, and the motor paint alone gives it a premium feel compared to the raw unpainted ABS plastic used in the HT version. Most people outside of the 1/6 addiction will see it as a big toy-after all, cars aren’t made of plastic; toys are.
