The better question to ask is the year before this draft, the Bills traded the #10 pick to the Chiefs who drafted Patrick Mahomes and the Bills started the season with (checks notes) Nathan Peterman at QB. NATHAN PETERMAN.

As a naturally pessimistic person, it's a little frightening to get excited because of how it hurt last year. But I really am hoping that this is a new start. it's not like i'm having fun being down on Jamal. And plus, we don't need Jamal to be this kind of dominant every time we need a balance. When everyone's cooking, everyone's happy. Jukic's motto is always the best.

Great season. Big time success. The most successful part is Bo Nix who is their franchise QB moving forward. Payton/Nix appear to be a great duo. They do have a super base to add to. First and foremost is a TE. Better RB efficiency and receivers who do not drop the ball. The defense could not really stop Buffalo either in the second half.

@RealisticRobot2 күн бұрын
Allen really wasn't that good his rookie year. He had a strong arm and would badly overthrow receivers. This premise that a player would replicate success somewhere else is ridiculous. He's had exactly the coaching that he's need to be where he is.

He’s not on an obvious decline. He’s injured. Just because you’ve settled on a narrative doesn’t mean it reflects reality.
@sammyslam12 күн бұрын
I think it was more about retaining the core of the championship team and testing the growth of Christian Braun. We'll have to see if things work out in the 2024/2025 season before we make a final assessment. Had they chosen to retain KCP prior to doing a max deal with Jamal Murray, they may have felt compelled to trade Jamal Murray for depth. Would they have been better with KCP and without Murray? Hard to know, especially given that Gordon has missed so many early games. I'm assuming in a possible Murray trade a point guard is coming back, so that likely means no Russell Westbrook deal. The Clippers would not have been interested in Murray given their new deal with James Harden. I think Gm Booth made mostly wise choices except for the Dario Saric move but that was the move that basketball analysts loved....😊 They hated the Westbrook addition. Universally this was seen as a terrible choice(except for Paul Pierce to his credit) I think Booth might actually be right on some of the youngsters. Clearly he isn't right on Nnaji but CB, Watson, and Strawther have been fine. I think one of those youngsters will have to go so the bench can get an experienced veteran, so give Booth a chance to make a deal. I think this could be a title season.

@@j.m.2245 If we're talking about "reality" then him being "injured" is par for the course...he's always injured. Look at his games played over the last 6 years or so. The fact he's inching towards 30 years of age and he can't ever seem to come into a season in shape skews toward that being an issue the rest of his career.

@@j.m.2245 Jamal hasn't been the same since the ACL tear. Moreover, he seems to always start slow and improve over the course of the season (whether this is physical or mental or both). The eye test this year shows him typically winded and struggling to gain separation. Conditioning is an issue. That said, he can hit tough shots (and I'm rooting for this). But let's not ignore the obvious signs of physical decline. In addition there appear to be confidence issues now, too- witness his FT% struggles.

@j.m.2245 he missed 23 games last year, was bad in the playoffs and was unplayable for the Canadian team.... Dort started over him. Either way he had a whold nother year on his contract and on top of that at his best he isnt a 52mil player especially in a salary cap league.
