Murray in some teams would not be 3rd best options, he have never been all star first, second or third NBA teams or some defensive teams , in last five seasons he has never played more than 65 games, he missed 2 consecutive play-offs when Nikola was in his prime. He had 2 great play-offs but this is all. Last year in regular season he played great against Detroit Charlotte or similar teams. Against Minnesota he was outplayed by Jaden Mc Daniels multiple times. For Nuggets it would be much better to trade him for 2 good starters and 2 picks than giving him this contract.

They almost certainly would do so because they would only have 13 players on the roster and there's no way they go into the season with so few. Of course they haven't said they will re-sign Vlatko, DeAndre and Justin, let alone trading Zeke and Reggie but they MUST get rid of Zeke even if they have to throw in a draft pick to do it, and Reggie is pretty useless as a point guard. Zeke has negative value and I can't see a team wanting him, so the Nuggets will have to include a pick or another player to move him.

Please explain how Holmes is different from Zeke Nnaji. Wasn’t the point of extending Nnaji through 27-28 that he was supposed to be the guy you now say Holmes can become. And now we have Holmes on the team with Nnaji, and Nnaji’s lackadaisical attitude and refusal to work hard to make himself into the player they expected him to be. There’s a good chance Nnaji, as now the veteran, “takes Holmes under his wing” and infects Holmes with the “just get paid, but don’t put yourself out too much” attitude that came from Vonleh and Bates-Diop.
